I know we're discussing tomorrow, but I just finished watching it now.
It holds up, The Winterfell story is the strongest. I love seeing Catelyn, Robb, Maester Luwin, and Rodrik together like that. I like how the Jorah/Dany friendship starts forming in this episode too.
It loses a point for direwolf death and Dany rape though.

One of my ten star episodes Just perfect start to finish IMO. It's the perfect second episode, developing tension and conflict in minor ways and culminating with a tragic death that really just foreshadows the entire series.
And as always with my Kingsroad love, this, one of the greatest scenes in the show...

8/10 pretty good. It made me dislike Cersei effectively. Everything in the Dothraki Sea was quite boring though.

I gave this one a 9/10. The only reason I dock it a point is because a lot of the scenes were dialogue heavy and while important exposition, made the transition from one scene to the next a little more difficult to take... flashing quickly back and forth between Jon/Tyrion seeing the wall for the first time back to Winterfell and then back to Essos and Dany again - it felt a bit jarring to me for all of the weighty material which had to be covered in this hefty episode of set ups and plot development. I think in time they learned to ease that transition a bit more fluidly. This is a technical quibble only though as all of the scenes were very well done, particularly those between strong pairs of characters like Jaime and Tyrion, Ned and Robert, Catelyn and Robb, even Jorah and Dany had a tender moment of becoming friends.
A huge episode of more development that many have forgotten about as it wasn't as epic and action heavy as the premiere, this was still a very key critical episode which is still setting the stage for the big things to come for all the massive number of character's we've met. I wonder if this episode wasn't a bit too much to swallow (so much happened) for non-book readers as even knowing the plot I found it heavy at times.

It's a 10 from me.
This one's a classic. There's intrigue, violence, deception, interesting conversations, foreshadowing. All perfectly blended together IMO.

9 out of 10
It was the perfect follow up episode to the premiere. Heartbreaking moments (Jon & Arya; Bran & Jon; Lady!) with a little too much dialogue, but all in all a great episode.

10/10. This episode was amazing. Packed with so many emotional goodbyes, and setup much of the rest of the season. Got a little choked up during Jon and Arya scene, ngl. I want so much to see them reunited some day, which I'm sure means it won't happen.

9. Remarkably focused episode. I don't think until ep. 402 were there so many members of the main cast bouncing off of one another so effortlessly in a long sequence set in one location. Which I guess we'll only see again in s7 and s8 as storylines continue to converge. As much as GoT's come to be about storylines separated by vast distances, this opportunity in the Winterfell scenes to hone in on the characters whilst they're together, particularly in the non-book moments that D and D made up, was one that they took advantage of very cleverly. Things like letting Jon and Jaime have a moment together and Cat and Cersei were great little inventions in particular because of the paralells that they bring to mind between the two pairs; two young men who took a vow while they were too young and paid a price for it and two mothers who'd do anything for their children. Jaime and Cersei play as dark reflections of Cat and Jon.
Speaking of Cat, other than 104, 207 and 309, this has to be Michelle Fairley's best episode. Instead of getting one great moment as in 104's ending though, she has a whole episode to work on Cat's transition from not wanting to leave Bran's side under any circumstances to making the fateful decision that she'll actually have to leave his side and go south. The scenes where she's at his beside and her hair's messy and her face is hollow are amazing. Though she didn't say "it should've been you" to Jon in the show she played that dynamic so fiercely and honestly that in that moment I resented Jon too, despite his having done nothing wrong.
Of course the Rhaegar-Lyanna hinting is strong in this one. As well as the Wylla Red Herring stuff. Which they unsubtly place RIGHT AFTER the fucking Jon-Ned farewell scene. Which basically spells out either the writers are way too on-the-nose OR Ned's lying. Hmm. I wonder which one is being set up obviously as an elephant in a phonebooth? And Sean Bean plays Ned keeping his sister's secret very well. Now we know that that is specifically why Robert's plans for Ned bug him so much. Since he sacrificed his honour and reputation to take in Jon as his supposed bastard, the fact that Bobby's pushing to kill yet another young Targaryen just breaks his heart.

^I certainly didn't resent Jon in that moment, but other than that I completely agree with everything you said. The Jon/Jaime & Cersei/Cat parallels are so obvious now that you point them out, but honestly they didn't really stand out to me at first. Great post, konradsmith.

Loved your review konradsmith and you hit the nail on the head about Catelyn. She and Ned both had such complicated scenes in this episode. Their personal tensions: Bran's health, Jon and leaving for war long ago as well as the growing political tensions were played out prefectly by both actors. The desperation and stress Michelle gave as a Mother worried sick and not sleeping or leaving his side was brilliant. Ned's immense emotions tied to Jon asking about his Mother yet barely concealed was also brilliantly done. This episode was monumental as it was the last time we'd see all the Starks together in Winterfell. It was a good-bye episode for all of them and revisiting their farewells to one another was heartbreaking.

I gave this one a 10 as well, just about a perfect follow up episode. I love the scene between Jaime and Jon(my two favorite characters in their only meeting so far, it's also my background on my PC) The subtle clues to R+L=J, Ned promising Jon to tell him about his mother, my unadulterated hatred of Cat and the way she treats Jon poor Lady leaving to soon, and Bran waking up for another cliffhanger! Excellent episode!

I gave it a 10, too - it covered so much territory that is absolutely fundamental to the rest of the series and did it so well. A hard episode for me to watch, though - all that happened with Mycah, Nymeria, Arya, Lady, Sansa, Joff, Cersei - it just painful to watch everything start to fall apart so quickly, knowing that all of the pain involved in that is only a drop in the bucket compared to what's to come. It's like watching Bran climb up the tower that fateful day.
