Thank you so much for starting this thread and all the photos konradsmith and alcasinoroyale! I've been wrapped up in the epic re-watch project (writing long essays on foreshadowing) so I haven't yet turned towards one of my favorite things, speculating for the locations in the new season that now feels like a million years away. I do think that different angle of Castillo de Almodóvar del Río Al posted could be a very convincing Casterly Rock, but it could also be Highgarden too. I really hope we get to see Casterly Rock, it's one of my favorite descriptive castles in the books as is Lannisport for it's wealth and beauty. Perhaps Tyrion goes home to square things away at some point in Season 7?

These places look amazing. Seems clear we're getting one last tour of Westeros - probably including Highgarden and Casterly Rock. I think Highgarden is where we next see Randyll Tarly, alongside Olenna and others. There's also a lot more Oldtown in store judging from the look of some of these streets that we've been seeing.
Casterly Rock was mentioned by Daario in 610 so some sort of action will take place there I bet.
We also know we'll get more Dorne (Seville filming).
The old ruins are hard to figure out.... maybe Summerhall? A flashback to Valyria (if it's relevant)?
The rock formation could be a new Dragonstone location. I think Northern Ireland would be a better fit for Greywater Watch.
I'm not sure we'll physically see Daenerys in all these spots (Dorne/Dragonstone/Highgarden/Casterly Rock/King's Landing). Seems more likely we'll see different branches of her army fighting in different places. But of course filming spoilers will take care of that. Every time Emilia Clarke or Peter Dinklage are spotted on one of these locations it'll be a massive spoiler unto itself.

It was the only place I could think that would fit. I've always pictured it as an old Roman ruin. Take the inspiration of the events of Pompeii but they couldn't use Pompeii. I often wondered if Jon was conceived at Summerhall.

Until we receive more news, I think this is a pretty good guesstimate: Itzurun Beach in Zumaia (Dany's Landing in the Stormlands) San Juan de Gaztelugatxe in Bermeo (Casterly Rock or Storm's End) Los Barruecos in Malpartida (Dany's War Camp in the Stormlands) Castell de Almodóvar del Río (Highgarden or Casterly Rock) Roman Ruins of Italica in Santiponce (Flashback of Tourney at Harrenhal, Summerhall, or potentially parts of Dorne) City of Cáceres (Oldtown and potentially parts of King's Landing)

Wait for more confirmation... But when I saw those ruins, the tourney at Harrenhal was my first thought. I didn't even think about Summerhall until someone up post mentioned it. Oh, I'm doing a happy dance right now!

The Tourney at Harrenhal will be included in the S6 Histories and Lore though, but there's still hope.

The Tourney at Harrenhal will be included in the S6 Histories and Lore though, but there's still hope. The ruins would be great for flashback material ... even as far back as the Doom of Valyria maybe if we're really lucky though I imagine that would be strategically (and special effects) difficult to do. The only other thing I can think of that *maybe* they'd want old ruins for would be something to do with the Isle of Faces and the Green Men. Being they are likely connected or part of the Children of the Forest heritage, maybe some still exist there and Sam reads about the pact made during the Age of Heroes or others who went to the Isle like Howland Reed? With the CotF at Three Eyed Raven's tree cave destroyed, Bran is going to be keen to find other magical people to help. He may find an open connection to the Green Men. Ruins would be fitting for the ancient places long forgotten. But I do agree, a Rhaegar flashback would be amazing. We'll have to watch for casting clues very carefully.

As Euron calls himself a storm meets his end at Strom's End.

As Euron calls himself a storm meets his end at Strom's End. Would definitely be some poetic justice there if Euron fancies himself a Storm God. Durran's Defiance would surely be a fitting castle, but it's the Baratheon's home so I feel it should go to Edric Gendry!

I'm not so sure where to put this, I think it has already been touched upon as this article is a month old, but I can't be bothered to re-read this whole thread again. Considering that according to this article winteriscoming.net/2016/07/15/game-of-thrones-season-7-reportedly-filming-in-iceland-in-january/ the show will have 6 main characters filming in Iceland. The obvious candidates being Jon, Sansa, LF, Tormund, Davos, Bran and Meera. Although admittedly that is 7 characters, but I doubt Meera is classed as a main character.
If that is correct, does that mean that Jon, Sansa, LF, Tormund and Davos won't be spending all of season 7 at Winterfell? As we aren't expecting the full battle of the Dawn this season, why would Jon and co leave Winterfell? To me that would also suggest that Brienne & Pod, Arya and the Hound won't be heading north. Although, I admit, I didn't never thought they would go north. I'm fully expecting to see Arya head to Kings Landing to try and kill Cersei with the Hound in tow, and him being off to satisfy Cleganebowl.
Whoever is filing in Iceland will be really interesting. Also it is worth noting if we get a character who could be Howland Reed. If he would be in the north, then we'd know that the Riverlands are also in winter. Therefore, if Maisie, Rory, Gwen, Daniel and Carice are not filming in Iceland, we can safely assume that they are all heading south towards Kings Landing.
They can't get away from Bran and Meera. They are a dead cert for filming in Iceland. The alternative for the rest is that we have Arya, The Hound, Brienne and Pod being the other 4/5 members of main cast filming in Iceland. I'd possibly have to include Mel in that list. This could mean either they are heading north, or the Riverlands are covered in snow.

I think this is roughly, for understanding character movement, where the main exteriors will be filmed, working from north to south. Beyond the Wall, Iceland. Castle Black, still Northern Ireland. The set is there and it is only small so they can stick in some false snow. Winterfell, still Northern Ireland as that is where the Castle is. Again, like Castle Black, they can make it look wintery. The North, Iceland. The Riverlands, Northern Ireland. I'm expecting the snow levels to be the same as the north in season 6 so Northern Ireland will be a better bet. Especially as there will be more daylight hours. The Iron Islands, Northern Ireland. The set is there and they are fairly far south. The South, Northern Spain. Flashbacks, most likely Northern Ireland or Spain. Based on what little we know so far, for the time being, I'm going to assume that is fairly close to what the location split by country will be like for exterior filming. I'll probably be totally wrong.

konradsmith - that newest post from WotW goes into detail about Los Barruecos which you posted photos of before. Beautiful location. I'm betting Dorne.
