So, what are you all reading right now? Any good recommendation you'd like to share? I'm about to pick up Six of Crows.

I'm reading The Heroes by Joe Abercrombie right now. It's a standalone book set in the world of his First Law trilogy. He's pretty great, and definitely right up the alley of ASoIaF fans. Very realistic, gritty writing for fantasy, and his characters are great.

I finished Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins two weeks ago. A great book with three female protagonists who you can relate to very easily, but change your opinion about them in one turn of a page. And I read The Reader by Bernhard Schlink last week (movie version is starring Kate Winslet, though I haven't seen that yet) It deals with a summer love between a teen and a middle-aged woman after WWII.

I read the Eye in the Door. It was okay, contained a lot if post traumatic psychology stuff which I liked. And dealing with homosexuality in early 20th century.

I usually find plenty of time to catch up on reading when I'm on vacation, but this last one was a very active one, so my downloaded "Mrs. Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" remains unread.
My most recently finished books are "The Shoemaker's Wife" by Adriana Trigiani and The Maze Runner series (which I was left scratching my head over after the third book.....)

Any Stephen King fans here? I LOVE him, and recently tried to dive into his Dark Tower series. I have had the most difficult time getting through the first book (The Gunslinger). Someone tell me it gets better?? I want SOOO badly to like it, but really having a tough time....

Any Stephen King fans here? I LOVE him, and recently tried to dive into his Dark Tower series. I have had the most difficult time getting through the first book (The Gunslinger). Someone tell me it gets better?? I want SOOO badly to like it, but really having a tough time.... It does get better! It gets better as soon as Roland gets some friends and is not just running around the desert. I love The Dark Tower series and I actually came to this thread to tell you that I'm gonna read it again, the story has been on my mind now that they're making the movie. But yeah, I remember having a tough time with the first book. I started it a couple of times and gave up on it and then one time I was at my moms summer cottage (total bore that place, no electricity meant no tv and this was like 20 years ago so no cellphones either) and had nothing else to do so I just kept reading and fell in love with the story. Luckily my brother was a bookie and in to fantasy so he had all the Dark Tower books that were published at the time (four books had been published at that time, had to wait soooo many years to read the rest of the story). I'm not really a fan on King's horrorstories but I love the Dark Tower, Under the dome and 11/22/63, he creates amazing worlds. So I urge you to try and keep up with it, skip a few pages if you must or maybe pick the story up from the second book and if you fall for it go back and read the first one

I was going to start Outlander since I ended up liking the show so much, but of course the first one was the only one at Barnes and Noble that didn't have a $10 dollar version available and no way am I paying $18 for a bigger size. B&N strikes me down again.
