“I am not writing anything until I deliver WINDS OF WINTER. Teleplays, screenplays, short stories, introductions, forewords, nothing." TWOW is coming soon gang. Yeah right, he'll just co-produce two other shows, co-edit the next 50 Wild Cards books, co-found a dozen new movie theaters and attend 100 new cons. Possibly. Or he'll just too busy writing his spin-off series that the last book will remain indefinitely elusive. GRRM keeps pushing his TV presence forward. All that talk about him being at odds with D&D were always complete bullshit.

Valyria for me. Just out all the money of the 4 spin-off into an epic one.
Last thing I'm interested in is Robert Robellion.
Would go for a ASOIF sequel.
But the truth is, just gimme Winds Of Winter and a Dream of Spring

They should do an anthology series imo. But cliffhangers sell more tickets so they won't. An anthology series would be awesome.

Jesus HBO. Surely even the most diehard fan has to realise that 4 separate shows is too much. The world doesn't need more cinematic/televisual universes. Hopefully they're just keeping options open.
And yeah, GRRM developing new series doesn't signal anything about his TWOW progress. He wouldn't necessarily even write for them, only certain ideas would necessitate his input.

All we have is a vague EW article telling us these shows are in early stages of development. It doesn't necessarily mean he's writing teleplays, just that he'll be involved in the writer's room process in some way. Or maybe TWOW will be out tomorrow and he'll be freed up. Or maybe these shows are two years away and he expects to be finished by then. Point is we can't really gauge anything from this news.

Well it's news so we're gonna talk about it...
I agree that the more the merrier. If people get tired of it, they'll stop watching it. But that doesn't mean HBO is gonna walk away from its most successful thing ever.

4 spinoffs would be a bit fucking insane. I'm hoping for an anthology though.

Question: if there's a Robert's rebellion spinoff, which characters from the current series younger versions could we expect?

Well, I guess it's fairly safe to say none of these 4 projects are sequels. That would mean the writers in question have been told the ending of GOT, which I find very unlikely.

I don't want a sequel series...not yet anyway.
I think it's safe to say at least the Conquest is almost a sure thing. The Rebellion is also a strong possibility. I don't know if HBO is willing to go back to like Valyria. They probably want to kind of do more of the same, so more wars, scheming, big battles, etc etc.
Besides, the Doom just kind of randomly happened one day, so idk how they could make a show out of that.

Am I the only one that is not really excited about GOT spinoffs/prequels/sequels? I don't know, I understand the appeal that could have for some people, but the story I love and I am invested is ASOIAF and that ends the day the episode 806 airs. I have spent many years in this universe, growing with the characters, being happy and sad with them... And I'm ready to move on after the show ends.
