What do we think about the foundation the MIB runs? I'm guessing something really good as a contrast to how awful he is int he park. It sounded like a charity or something. People on the subreddit mentioned it would be funny if he turned out to be a philanthropist or something. And for once they were right. I immediately thought "He runs a nonprofit for kids with cancer" like, saint work compared to how he normally acts.

Maeve and Dolores are increasingly self-aware. The Man in Black is trying to unravel Arnold's design and Ford is letting him do it because he's an old nihilistic meanie. However it looks like Dolores will discover that first. That's all I've got.

One moment William and Lawrence were there, and then camera panned back over to Dolores' left and the car was empty except for her.

However it looks like Dolores will discover that first. That's all I've got. I got all of that. It was Lawrence's new identity and the Halloween orgy parade that was more confusing. I don't think that was a new identity. I think that's just who he is and why he was being hanged when the MiB first found him. That's the beginning of his loop and the hanging's the end. Which the MiB interrupted for his own purposes. So I think they just fixed him up and put him back in the story in time for some guests showing up in it. The MiB said they'd come for him pretty quickly when he was strung up. And he was right. And we saw with Thandie Newton that they can fix up people and send them back out within the space of a day if needs be. Maeve and Dolores are increasingly self-aware. One moment William and Lawrence were there, and then camera panned back over to Dolores' left and the car was empty except for her. She's hallucinating a lot. I think it's just that.

What was the whole thing with Felix resurrecting the dead bird supposed to mean? I guess just that he wants to be a coder or whatever. Not sure how it's relevant to the overall plot though.

It's good and I'm enjoying it on a certain intellectual level, but I feel like they're aiming for a certain profundity that they aren't achieving. Dolores is fantastically acted but her story is getting lost in the layers and layers of plot, and whilst it felt like this was presented as a big "flashing lights" important episode, I don't feel like we were given particular insight at all.
Mystery is fun in so far as it slowly reveals interesting things about the characters we need to be invested in. I'm not sure how much I've been given a reason to care about, or even understand, the majority of the human characters.
Hopkins is killing it though, best performance I've seen from him in...maybe ever actually, I'm not a huge fan of his Lector.

What was the whole thing with Felix resurrecting the dead bird supposed to mean? This was cool, I thought. Having said we don't know shit about most of the humans, I think I found out more about that Felix bloke in this one episode than many of the others throughout the season. I think it shows the potential beauty in this whole process. We've mostly seen it as this huge corporate machine, especially behind the scenes where everything is very stark and factory-like, but here's this guy who been working on getting a little dead bird to flutter back to life. It suggests both the appeal, and the possible hubris, to the whole thing in a microcosm.

I feel like this is one of those shows that I need to rewatch later on, like after the first season is out I'll watch it all again and maybe understand something But I do love this show, I've liked every episode and I love the western settings they're in.
