i waatched the national nthem on a plane Looooool was it edited? I watched an unedited version of The Reader on a plane. I kept looking behind me to make sure no one was watching my screen. Only time I ever regretted an aisle seat. No, I downloaded it onto my phone from Netflix so I was just kinda sitting there in my middle seat like oops don't look at me it was recommended to me right before I left so I just downloaded the first episode unknowingly. But now I've watched up to the christmas one and i was like what the heck its jon hamm

Shut Up and Dance definitely, but Hated in the Nation seemed like something that could really happen too. Am I the only one that cried during various parts of this show? San Junipero and Be Right Back made me cry a lot. <3

To me the most disturbing futuristic scenario in Black Mirror was probably the one in Nosedive. It seems pretty mild in comparison to 15 Million Merits or Men Against Fire, but it would drive me insane so fast. Maybe that's because the one in Nosedive seems like something that could theoretically happen in the not-so-distant future (*hits the Like button*), perhaps not to such an extreme as shown in this episode, but still. More than any other episode that featured futuristic technology, Nosedive felt like an abstraction of the world we already live in.
A world where in order to succeed in anything in life, you have to constantly be fake friendly to everyone, where every human interaction is superficial as fuck, and where you can literally ruin your entire life by just having one moderately bad day. I had a permanent level of anxiety while I was watching that episode.

I had a permanent level of anxiety while I was watching that episode. I downloaded those tones from the episode and I occasionally point my phone at my husband to rate him. I agree though, that episode reminded me of people who spend all their time carefully crafting their instagrams or what not. It could happen. I would hate to live in a world where that app is actually a thing.

I'm gonna continue bingewatching Black Mirror tonight. White Christmas is next. Let's see how it goes. I always either love or hate the episodes. There is little inbetween. I always have a very strong reaction to it either way. But hey, even with the episodes I disliked, I was never bored!

Woah guys, Nosedive was SO good! 5/5 stars. Yes, I'm rating the episode. With my phone. (*insert those phone sounds*) No, but seriously. Just like Basil I felt anxious the entire time. Even though it's not as extreme as some of the other scenarios, this one is probably closest to what I'd consider hell to be like. I would not be able to live in that kind of society. I'd be like that lady with her truck. Bryce Dallas Howard was amazing. The entire episode was filmed and felt more like a movie. And that ending? It was absolutely liberating. I prefer Black Mirror episodes that have some kind of catharsis at the end like this one.

i freaking balled my eyes out in Fifteen million merits.
I probably was close to tears in every episode tbh because they are so intense.
You know Men Against Fire was really interesting as well. i won't spoil but it is pretty fucking dark.

Damn, I can't stop thinking about some of these episodes. White Christmas made me feel claustrophobic. And Shut Up and Dance really, really disturbed me because it's so realistic (no futuristic tech involved whatsoever). I think it's the most disturbing one yet. Furthermore, the usage of music destroyed me. When they played that Radiohead song at the end I completely lost it and cried. It was so fucked up, sad, disturbing and appalling at the same time. Also, just like with White Bear we are supposed to sympathise with the main character but then the show just pulls the rug out from under you. I felt SO bad for both of them, but at the same time I was appalled by their crimes. Did anyone else feel the same way? Also, there is some phenomenal acting in some of these episodes. The performances that really stayed with me are: Hayley Atwell in Be Right Back, Toby Kebbell in The Entire History of You, Bryce Dallas Howard in Nosedive and Alex Lawther in Shut Up and Dance. San Junipero is next. I hope that one is a bit more uplifting. I need it now.

San Junipero! San Junipero! San Junipero! No other episode even needs to show up. It was sooo good. So pleased you kept watching! Knew there would be at least a few episodes that would work for you, it's the kind of show where you could hate one episode's guts but then love the next one to death. San Junipero really is that good, need to rewatch it. Are you digging Season 3 much more then? It's definitely gotten more mature and subtle in its storytelling, not to mention the Netflix money really helped it visually.

I still have to see the final two, but S3 is already my favourite season. It's the most polished and well-written out of all the seasons. Three of my four favourite episodes are from S3 (Nosedive, Shut Up and Dance, San Junipero). The fourth one is Be Right Back.
