Not gonna lie I thought there was way too much Sam in this episode. That montage was like 40 seconds too long lol. Agreed. I would have preferred it just be two scenes, one meeting the archmaester and the other Jorah.

Yeah I think I could have done without the puke and poopfest but it was funny and got the point across ... poor Sam is wasting his time there. I'm glad he just finally said fuckit and stole the keys to the restricted area. He's such a rebel!

I was in the wrong thread - oops.
Wow - they're wasting no time! Loved that Dany's entrance to Dragonstone itself was quiet, with just her very trusted - it was spiritual.
So glad Arya got the rest of the Freys - couldn't figure out what was going on at first. So well done, and nice to know Arya must have a big ole suitcases of faces with her.
Have missed the Hound so much - got shudders when he described what he saw in the flames. Loved that he buried the old man and his little girl.
Really worried about Sansa and Jon, so afraid they'd have a rift, but at least for now, they're OK, I think, and as Sansa told Brienne, she needs LF's army, but I don't think will be taken in by him. Hope not, and I like the exchange between Sansa and Jon. I do like that Jon didn't take the castles away from the Karstark and Umber children, and I was reminded when Sansa said Jon didn't know Cersei like she did that he should listen to her (he didn't when she said she knew Ramsey better than he did.)

Where to start?
The Frey Feast was terrific, except I would have loved to see what happened to Edmure. Thought he was in the dungeons again. Hubby took a minute to realize what was going on. The North Remembers...
the discussion between Cersei and Jamie was good. Love her asking if he were afraid of her. Like, he's supposed to agree?? And Euron! I can't think of enough to describe how awesome he's going to be as Euron. I had my doubts last year, but he's really got a handle on the role.
I think too much has been made of the Jon/Sansa tift for the season. I truly enjoyed the scene they shared after her outburst in the hall. They need to be a team, and the same has to be said of Cersie/Jamie and Dany/Tyrion. Each completes a part the other doesn't provide. I also liked how Jon is growing into his position. He has changed since the resurrection. He's harder, more willing to stand his ground. It looks good on him.
Overall a solid quick start of the season. Wish the preview for next week had been a little longer, but everything about this season is apparently going to be rapid fire and quick of pace.
And the Dragons have returned to Dragonstone. Beautifully moving when you consider how Dany was an infant the last time she was on that island.

The Jon/Sansa scenes worried me, but I actually think it played really well. Like Envie said, the conflict is normal family conflict, no worse than the conversation I had with one of my own sisters this afternoon so, fuck reddit. I'm ready for the haters.

I was actually very into Sansa and Jon. I also liked this - their back and forth will be productive, good for each of them, they'll learn to compromise. Also wanted to say the scene of Euron's fleet was stupendous - really scary! They did a great job.

I love every scenes in it.
But i'm haven't thought about whether Ed Sheeran's cameo is good and Sam's shitting scene is unnecessary.

I'm extremely happy with this episode. I think it really showed how much David and Dan have matured as writers. Everything was connected and the order the scenes were in made a lot of sense. IMO the best part was Winterfell by far. I didn't expect it to be so well-written and now I'm really intrigued to see the rest of this storyline. Sophie and Kit did an amazing job. Both of them have come a long way in developing their acting skills. Regarding the scene: as Envie already said, it didn't feel awkward but like a healthy argument. I could see where both of them were coming from and their opinions made perfect sense in the context of their respective storylines. It felt like two siblings arguing. This is officially my most-anticipated storyline now. My second favourite storyline was King's Landing. Lena as Cersei is always a blast to watch and I love that Cersei is still as cunning as ever. And Euron was great too, which I didn't expect after S6. Arya's cold open is probably my third favourite scene. It was really effective and it gave me chills. Honourable mention: the really well-done ending at Dragonstone. I didn't expect to feel something when Dany touched Westerosi soil but I totally did. The scene had a lot of weight and D&D realised that so they didn't spoil it with dialogue. It was the right decision. I really liked it.
