But as for it being south of the wall and green grass, I do believe that's probably what they were going for in the vision. It's Bran seeing them marching south of the wall. Well, that makes it about 4 times more chilling! As moiaf said, we've always known they'll get south of the wall, but I could never have imagined their coming in such a powerful storm, unchecked, once they're south of the wall. Truly, "they bring the storm."

Not sure if this has been discussed, but Joanna Robinson had a very interesting theory on Bran's vision I first heard on her podcast and then read here: What Did Bran Actually See?: It’s tempting to imagine that the Bran vision that immediately follows the episode’s opening credits is a glimpse of either the past or the current march of the undead. But as we learned last season when Bran saw Cersei’s wildfire exploding, this kid can also see the future. If you look closely, it looks to me as though the Night King and his crew (including giants!) are marching on green grass that turns to snow as they cross it. As Jon put it last season: “The true enemy won’t wait out the storm. He brings the storm.” That green means they are south of the Wall. But the White Walkers have never been south of the Wall before. They may even be south of snowy Winterfell in this green-grass vision, given that this looks like poor, one-eyed Wun-Wun.I didn't pick that up on my watch. Very interesting catch. Sorry if you guys discussed it before. I just assumed it was a real-time vision. Well that is what I was wondering when I asked which side of the wall they were on.

i've disliked joanna robinson for a long time but the straw that broke the camel's back for me was when last year she did this big "badass women of GOT" article on vanity fair and she included the sand snakes but not arya......

I thought that dagger looked familiar. I assume in the show it's just Littlefinger's, and probably still in his possession. Maybe we'll see it later down the line?

I can't say i've paid attention to her reviews enough to have an opinion on her, but sand snake love and the wun wun do not inspire confidence.

I followed a link for catspaw dagger in the Vanity Fair article to get to what I thought was a nice one on that. I don't think it's 'spoiler' category since it only has to do with the dagger in Sam's book that we're already talking about and a little detail in the photo of Arya on the cover of Entertainment Weekly. But just in case, What I really liked was a fun look at this:

@roose is right, that's a stupid looking design for the knife. (and it's not even really a dagger like it should be.)

FWIW: Joanna said she didn't think it was Wun Wun on the podcast, although the one-eye (and she said the wrong eye) was a little curious.

there is no way to see green in that night king scene, wun wun had his right eye shot out, joanna robinson sucks, dave chen sucks more, and their podcast sucks most I don't know much about her except she's a journalist. I've seen stuff from her that I thought was off, but I kind of round up these personalities (and Hibbard) a little different than most. I just like content period and sometimes they pick up or deliver nuggets. The only journalism I don't do well with personally are show haters or book purists (hey I like the books too). I thought she made a good point about green grass and it wasn't something I've seen/heard before.

There must be something of vital importance with the dagger for D&D to push it so "subtly" in our faces.

I fundamentally disagree with her opinion that the show lost its soul when good guys start winning. She just misses the complete point of this story.
