Back to the actual battle, WotW said it could be on the scale of BotB and take up a third of 704, so I'm curious what Shakman does here and how it will compare to Sapochnik. GET HYPE. The actual fighting in Snowbowl was probably only like 15 minutes, so we might get something along those lines. I can't wait. I wonder if Dany will target Jaime specifically, being the Kingslayer and all. From what it sounds like, I think they'll target each other, but as King Tommen this is Jaime's first on screen battle, so I'd imagine we'd see him fight at least a couple of Dothraki or even one of Dany's generals.

It would be unlikely for a general to take part in a battle, but I don't think Jamie will have a choice. I think after he sees first hand what a dragon can do, he will be the one to urge Cersei to join the assembly at the Dragonpit.

But how good is Jaime with his left hand? That's the intrigue. As I mentioned, he's been training with his left hand for the better part of 3 seasons now so I imagine we're going to get a payoff of some sort (although it might not be in this particular battle).

Too bad? I'm gonna laugh my ass off watching that scumbag roast! He's my most hated character (moreso in the books). Oh yeah I am glad he's dying too I just meant too bad he won't be a badass for much longer lol. Speaking of, do we have info about his death? Particularly, does Dany kill them like on the battlefield, or does she take them somewhere else to negotiate their surrender. Apparently some people are uncomfortable with Dany burning him but I am 100% there for it. I'm not uncomfortable with Daenerys burning the Tarlys, Drogon is her flaming sword after all. I would be really annoyed if they prop Tyrion as a morality pet by having him act uncomfortable when he used wildfyre back in the day to win a battle.

I would be really annoyed if they prop Tyrion as a morality pet by having him act uncomfortable when he used wildfyre back in the day to win a battle. I didn't mean Tyrion is uncomfortable with the actual burning, just the fact that Dany kills them. At least that's how I interpreted it. I think Dany leans more to the kicking ass and killing enemies side of conquest, while Tyrion is more concerned with Dany being actually respected and accepted. He's always kind of been that voice of reason in the show. In season 2 he was lecturing Cersei about how the common people need to like her, in season 5 he was talking to dany about breaking the wheel that crushes the people on the bottom, in season 6 he has red priests preach about how awesome Dany is to get the people to like her and counseling her to use mercy on the slavers so she doesn't look crazy. So I think his advice on I guess sparing the Tarlys is about saving face and making her look kind and merciful, and she obviously does not listen.

I'm trying to convince myself that there is a reason beside battle that prompts Daenerys to go Aegon The Conqueror (kind of) on Harrental on the Tarlys.
Your reading of Tyrion's character is very accurate and plausible.
I just wish for a plot point to be there.
Like, I have no problem with Cersei seizing power by razing the Sept, because honestly, it was doing that or dying and she clearly did not want to die. Also, religious fanatics? I'm not a fan. So in this case there was a reason behind her "mad" act.
I wish to be a reason behind Daenerys's action as well...I know that she has a Dragon's temper, (her words) but her character must evolve from Fire And Blood at some point. I think.

I think the reason can be her anger on Tarlys for betraying Tyrells.

ETA I'm a Fledgling now! Much yay! Sometimes easiest answer is the correct. Tarlys bertrayed Tyrells, much like Boltons bertrayed Starks = Dany will go Aegon Conqueror on them. Jon would probably do the same thing because if someone wants to bring up Karstark and Umbers kids, different situation where neither Jon or Dany would blame them. But this is war and in war people die.

But this is war and in war people die. I can't remember right now if we discussed this on a different thread or somewhere else but this was pretty much our conclusion. The Tarleys betrayed their liege Lady and sided with the woman who murdered his former liege Lord. They declare war on them in order to gain power. Dany goes on to defend her ally and when she captures the Tarlys she gives them the option to bend the knee and presumably forgive their betrayal or be lenient in her punishment but they refuse. So she has them executed. That's well within the her right as the victorious party in a war. I'm sure before going down Papa Tarly will say some racist shit about the Dothraki being as he is a xenophobic as we saw with how he behaved with Gilly.

Dany is not going to stop mercilessly killing the people who she believes have done wrong to her. She's been doing it since S1, people need to be ok with this if they're going to accept her as a ruler.
