I'm going to wait until tomorrow to give it my final score but this was definitely 10 material in my opinion. Not everyone was thrilled with all of the scenes and I completely understand why but this one did that thing that only a handful of them do, which is to go at such a crazy pace I can't catch my breath and one minute I'm happy and cheering and the next I'm in tears. I'm flat out exhausted from this episode. The only thing I hated was that transition from Jorah's oozing grayscale to the gravy in that guy's food. They shocked us with the shit-fest last week for Sam, was it really necessary to do that again? No. But that's a very minor nitpick. I don't need shock-value gore I watched way too much Walking Dead for that.

Decided on a 10. Just a brilliant hour of television. Krakenbowl didn't disappoint. I'm also so glad we got that Varys/Dany scene. Between wondering if they'd leave that as somewhat of a plothole, and my initial concerns over Euron, I really should just stop questioning D&D when it comes to anything major at this point.

A ten. Just like Nathalie. I'll come up with some more substantive analysis later, but Sweet Holy God Nathalie Emmanuel is a beautiful woman. Missandei and Grey Worm's love scene was beautiful, tender, and unspeakably sweet - arguably the best the show has ever done (credit to Jacob Anderson for his performance - he sold Grey Worm's fear of being rejected by this stunning goddess who loves him masterfully). Anyone who resents the time that the show spent on their love story will be having words with me. The rest of the episode was superb as well. Nymeria returns! Jon is on his way to Dany! Euron on the warpath! Sam cured Jorah! And every scene on Dragonstone this week – Dany and Varys, Dany and Olenna, etc., – was straight fire. Hell yes to ALL of it! As for Theon's decision to jump ship rather than trying to save Yara ... I believe it was absolutely true to his character's experience, and I'm grateful to the show for committing to that path (I went on a rather extended rant about this on WOTW after I saw people making jokes about his "cowardice" on Twitter, which I'll spare you all). I rated the episode 10/10 - not because it was perfect, but because it delighted me from beginning to end. There were so many callbacks to the show's previously established history, and I smiled at every one.

I've done a couple of rewatches now and it's a ten. I'm sure there'll be "better tens" this season to come but like I said last week I always rate with my heart and it just keeps feeling like a ten, I was so emotional while watching it and it hit me in all the right places.
I mean, with lines like "All dwarfs are bastards in their fathers eyes" and "That's not you", how could I not love this.

It's gotta be a 10. Lots of new characters interacting and some very fun callbacks.
ALSO 3 separate mentions of good old Robert! Even better none of them were insults! Keeping the name alive!

8 or 9.
Solid second episode (perhaps the best one after Home and The Lion and the Rose - didn't enjoy the battle as much as I thought I would, but the last few seconds of it were great. Really enjoyed the preparations and machinations of the three factions depicted here. Arya has also been simply brilliant this season. I feel like Mylod doesn't elevate scenes to the level that other directors do - he does a great job, but I just feel like many others - Sakharov, Graves, Sapochnik, Marshall, etc - add a little something to really make a scene stand out more.

7 from me. I loved all the dialogue and Jon throttling Littlefinger. It's a shame he didn't finish him off but to me the editing/direction of the action sequences were both awful. All sped up and slowed down at the wrong points and too dark to see what was going on. Blackwater Bay and Watchers on the Wall were both night fights and MUCH better. Nymeria is coming back. Yay!

Gave it a 8. Not feeling the Samwell stuff at all this season and Missendei/Grey Worm was a gigantic waste of time for me. Much better scenes for Arya this week though and the naval battle was pretty sweet.

9/10. The sea battle suffered from the "we're spending our money on the big stuff later in the season" syndrome so they had to flash cut around everything, have it in the dark and never go wide, which makes it difficult to tell what exactly is happening as well as the scale of it. But Euron being a force of nature, the Sandsnakes getting some pretty kickass deaths and Theon's moment mostly makes up for that. I'm surprised they made that sequence as involved as they did considering they've got much more important action sequences coming up later.
The Nymeria scene was perfect (mostly because they kept it focused on Arya) and shot around the fact that they could really only linger on Nymeria herself for a few seconds before it started looking fake.
Also really appreciated the fact they had the followup scene with Jaime and Randyl after the Cersei scene since it gave Jaime something non-Cersei to play off and showed him to be a smart commander and it also gives Randyl (who is generally an a-hole) some depth because he doesn't come off as a sniveling schemer and that he does show some trepidation about betraying loyalties which is pretty true to his book character. Jaime and Cersei being able to manipulate his blatant racism (dude really hates Dothraki and Wildlings for a guy who's never been exposed to them before) in order to get him onside.
Finally, full marks to letting Jorah's greyscale run wild and free. Based on how slowly it was spreading over past 2 seasons, you'd think it would take 10 years before he was in trouble. Glad things accelerated so that it wasn't just a little rash on his wrist anymore.
