The cave scene with Jon and Dany was huge. Shippers are thanking the gods old and new as they get closer to the inevitable. She finally believes him and they were both in awe of the historical significance of what they were seeing. He.Took.Her.Arm.And.She.Let.Him. No one touches Dany without her consent....Ever They've still got to get past the 'bend the knee crap' but I have a feeling how that problem will ultimately get resolved. Since she has such a 'good heart' that Davos has noticed Jon appreciating...HA!
I don't know if it is permissible to discuss any of the gift chapters that GRRM has released in context of the show, but there seems to be a 'familiar feel' to the cave itself.
The Field of Fire 2.0 was amazing. I just knew Bronn was a goner...I'm hoping when they start cleaning up the mess they find asshole Tarly burnt to a crisp, but I figure that there will have to be a final confrontation between him and Sam to come full circle.
I had an emotional lump in my throat several times during this fantastic episode...definitely a 10 in my book. It all made sense. Even the sad Meera/Bran scene, but that didn't mean I had to like it. She gave up everything for him and finally realized that she's lost him too. The Stark sisters were great as well...they realized that they didn't know each other any more, but the love was still there.
Best Jaime in like EVER...Just don't go home to Kings Landing...he's not dead...just a cliffhanger like GRRM ends chapters.
All of the music was perfect amazing!!!

Wow... Burlington Bar crowd are one of my favorite 'reactors' to GoT and this is the first time I've ever seen them this freaked out and yelling through the entire battle. Just watch these guys and realize how big the hype is out there over 7x04 (this was only a reaction to the Field of Fire battle) ... shit has gone completely off the rails for most fans worldwide!

Yup, I loved seeing that reaction too. The episode's an instant classic. It's the dragon battle we've all been waiting for since the end of season 1, and it's better than we could have imagined!

I've just seen a 'theory' that Jon drew those cave paintings himself in order to convince Dany. Now I want to see a scene of Davos and Jon sitting around and painting for hours

Reaction videos in general are something I just can't get behind. In the UK we have a really popular TV show dedicated to watching people's reactions to TV events in their living rooms every week and whenever I catch some it makes me want to throw things.

Gogglebox is the reason I can't watch reaction videos and not cringe. I do not understand how that show is anywhere near as popular as it is.

Late to the party here, but amazing episode.
Stark reunion was great. Sad to see Meera go, but I like how she mentions Bran dying in the cave, just like Summer. Since the starks are supposed to mirror their wolves. Also appreciated the slight awkwardness of the reunion, these kids haven't seen each other in years, and have each been through so much. They really don't know anything about each other anymore, so they should totally be slightly awkward. Brienne and Arya sparring was great, I think the point of it was to easily and quickly show everyone in winterfell exactly what Arya can do now. And it's endearing that she specifically seeks out Brienne to train her.
Dany & Jon, have to say I didn't expect to like this match up as much as I do. Love seeing them on the screen together, they are like two sides of the same coin, so similar yet so different. Loving everything about this.
The battle was beyond fabulous. Dothraki battle cry, amazing, Drogon, amazing, Bronn, amazing, Jamie's expressions during the battle, outstanding, soundtrack, superb.
This is such a great season, I'm so excited to see more!!

Did anyone else get the impression that they’re going to change who the dagger belonged to in the show? In the books it was Robert’s, and the assassin was hired by Joffrey. I’m getting the feeling they’ll change that so it’s actually Littlefinger’s and he hired the assassin. Otherwise I don’t really see the point in bringing it up. Not so sure about that, in the books it's Joff. But the thing about the dagger was LF used it to frame Tyrion which implicated the Lannisters which caused cat to take him prisoner, which led to Jaime attacking Ned which led to the war of the five kings and led LF to setting up Ned, which led to his death. LF used that dagger to start a war. He took advantage of a situation. The dagger was never his or Tyrions. The show followed that plot. No reason to change it, doesn't change what LF did. LF wasn't there he never could of set that up in the day or two it happened after Brans fall.

Also, when Bran says: "Do you know who this belonged to?" I get the distinct impression he's not talking about Littlefinger at all but who the original owner of the dagger was when it was forged and why it was forged. Agree 100% It's been featured too prominently this season to mean nothing except as a Valyrian steel dagger for Arya.

As far as we know, that dagger could belong to LF. I don't see the reason for them to bring it up again if they'll just dismiss it. I feel like they emphasised its significance too much for it to just be a throwaway. The picture in Sam's book and "do you know who this dagger belonged to" are definitely hinting at something. There is the possibility that they'll still make the dagger belong to Robert/Joffrey, and maybe explain that Robert took it from Rhaegar after the Trident? Like some kind of Targaryen heirloom?

They didn't bring it up in the books either, only hints that Joff had done it, like at his wedding day. When he got Widows wail he mentions he knows what Valayrian steel feels like. Same in the books. The attempt was clumsy, poorly planned, and their is no way he could of done it. Joff was lucky the killer got taken out by summer or he would of been talking. He's a loose end, the dagger is a loose end. Robert never saw the dagger, LF took advantage of the situation.

Most of you have probably watched it already, but for those of you who haven't, the making-of video for the battle is really great: Finally got myself simmered down enough to watch the making-of video with serious appreciation. It's hard to pull back up out of the immersion and really see how they do this magic behind-the-scenes but I'm in awe of the massive amount of work the show creators put into these kinds of scenes. They also apparently set some sort of pyro fx record for the most men on fire in a single scene with this one. Most impressive! Love hearing how the SFX guys and stunt guys and costume guys all worked for so long to make this battle perfect. Also, the horse-work was amazing in this scene and it was fascinating seeing how they designed those special stirrups so the stunt men playing Dothraki could stand up and shoot bows from a full charging horse like that!

how often do two women get to spar? NEVER It was a cool scene, sure. I also can't put my finger on it but it was something.. Was I supposed to read a specific emotion from Sansa's face? It almost looked like she was upset when she walked away and I truly didn't get why so I figured I just read her wrong Baelish was being a smirky creep as always so I guess it's mostly Sansa that left me confused, was she just shocked about Arya's skills? I actually 'got' that scene, for some reason. Remember earlier, Sansa sort of giggled about Arya's kill list, the ridiculousness of it, a joke. Sansa was thrilled at first to have her little sister back home, but then, watching Arya and Brienne, she realized Arya ISN'T the little sister she remembered at all. Just as Bran isn't the little brother she knew. They're all back in the same home they all once knew, but they're all very different people now. As GRRM said, bittersweet... Actually, in Sansa's sad face, I was reminded of the scene when Ned hired Syrio to be Arya's dancing instructor--Ned is first smiling as he watches them, but then he turns sad and we hear the sounds of fighting and war. Ned was sadly thinking 'everything will change now, and not for the better.' Now, I read the Arya-Brienne scene and Sansa's sad reaction as 'everything has changed, and not for the better.'
