I'm glad to see Podeswa and Taylor back. Mylod, not so much... I'm not familiarized with Shakman work. If somebody is... Is he a good choice for a show like GOT?

I wonder who is likely to do the "Big episode."

I wonder who is likely to do the "Big episode." We should get a clue when we find out how many episodes is doing each director. I assume that three of them will do 2 episodes, and the other one just a single episode. It's very likely that the one doing one episode will be behind the "Big Action/Big Drama". That kind of epic, at this late, must be really demanding, so it's logical to conclude that whoever direct the big one, will be entirely focused on that episode.

I understand that Sapochnik needs a break, but I think Bender should have come back instead of Mylod.

Shakman's biggest job has been Always Sunny, which is an entirely different kind of show to direct with actors who produce the show and often improv scenes, but he's done at least one episode for a shocking amount of great shows: Six Feet under (1 ep) One Tree Hill (1 ep) Boston Legal (1 ep) Everybody Hates Chris (2 eps) Ugly Betty (3 eps) Children's Hospital (2 eps) House (5 eps) Psych (5 eps) Fargo (2 eps) Revenge (4 eps) The Good Wife (6 eps) So he definitely has a more than impressive resume I think he might end up doing the Cogman type episodes with more discussion and character moments than something like Snowbowl or Hardhome.

So do we know how the directors are going to be assigned episodes? They could do it like 2 consecutive episodes each (or 1,2,2,2, etc) like they've done in seasons 5 and 6 but they might go back to just "randomly" assigning directors different episodes like they did for the first four seasons (IIRC). With only 7 episodes I think that's more likely

I wonder who is likely to do the "Big episode." I hope Taylor since he did "Baelor" and "Fire and Blood" I'm sure it's Taylor. He also did Thor 2 and the new Terminator movie. Not that these movies were brilliant, but they were big action blockbusters and they need someone who can do big CGI setpieces.

Great! Thank you. Then he will be fine, I think. I can see people complaining in other sites about Miguel not returning, but yeah, the man must be really tired, he worked for months and months to deliver us those two masterpieces. He deserves a good rest.

I wonder who is likely to do the "Big episode." Which episode will be the big one I wonder in a shortened season? Will it still be the penultimate episode? Or perhaps the finale? Do we know if it's actually two separate seasons, or a part 1&2 type deal?

It will make easier the negotiations with the cast.

Morever, D&D spoke about "two more seasons" in an interview. So it's S7 and S8 IMHO.
