I don't think Gendry is ever coming back... We won't know until next year, I guess. Though it might be good to bring him back because maybe he'll be the one to forge more Valyrian steel.

I think Gendry is more likely to come back than Jaqen, Roose.

I suspect we may see Jorah return early on, hopefully in connection with the Citadel.
New cast would probably be Howland Reed and Citadel Archmaester for sure but neither would be main cast parts.
I'm hoping for Lords from a few other notable Houses to appear as there will likely be some sort of "summit" to discuss how to defend against the White Walkers invading, don't you think? Even if minor parts it would be kind of cool to see Lords of other houses speaking up with their sigils and all.
Lastly, what do you think about Lord Tarly and family returning? He could be a great (minor) antagonist that goes after Sam and causes problems in the summit by refusing to join sides or something.

I'd want to see Jorah (defending Sam and Gilly) vs Randyll with Euron attacking in the background OLDBOWL? GET HYPE?

I've been thinking more on a possible Howland casting, and I just don't see it happening. If they were to have him, I think he'd be a fairly minor role and not have any big impact.
They didn't draw much attention to the fact that he was also at the Tower of Joy - the last thing he did was in episode 3 where he wounded Dayne then just disappeared. His book role will probably be significant - he'll deliver Robb's will and Jon will be declared KitN (similar to how Mormont's crow got him elected LC) and possibly also reveal Jon's parentage in private. On the show, the KitN scene has already happened, and I think Bran is on his way south to tell him about Rhaegar and Lyanna next season anyway.

I think Jaqen will return in Oldtown. I don't think it's a coincidence that Sam didn't actually reach the Citadel until after Jaqen was no longer needed in Braavos.

Euron's Oldtown raid is definitely happening too. Oldtown seems to become a central location next year, with possibly Jorah appearing as well.

Meera's survival also could be a factor if we get Howland Reed.

We just don't know how important Howland Reed's role is for the books yet either to determine whether or not he might be cast on the show. If all he's there to do is tell Jon Snow what went on at Tower of Joy, then yes, it's likely they'll cut him in favor of using Bran and his visions (which might both happen in the books anyways). IF Howland Reed and his house that moves in the swamps is somehow important to fighting the White Walkers (remember it's the neck that was a place where the CotF fought them and tried to cut off the land) ... then maybe he will arrive on the scene towards the end to help everyone with the great winterbowl.

Actually they fought against the First Men then IIRC, not the WW. But the swamps of Neck will probably become quite useful against them. But I don't think they're casting Howland.

In my mind, only one person should be cast to play Marwyn - Ray Winstone. But I wanted Mark Strong for Stannis and didnt get him.
