I need to rewatch it again because it felt a little weird to me. Like a checklist more than a complete episode.

I think they tried to bring too many little plot lines together all at once. An 8.

That episode felt so rushed. A lot to take in. Gave it an 8. I know they have a lot to cover and wish they had not shortened the season. That said, one of the biggest revelations EVER came out in this episode and I know it won't be dealt with until the last season, but it will be incredibly satisfying. Also, the trailer for next week makes me sad; I didn't see the same number of men trying to make it to that bluff.

7/10 for me. Not bad, but definitely among the weakest of the season (still better than Episode 2 though, IMHO). Le Good: * Jon and Drogon interacting. * Once again, Dany and Jon chemistry. * Finally Littlefinger is doing something. * The music was really good, specially in the scene with Arya snooping around. * Tormund asking if they bring Brienne with them * Gendry is back. * The Tarlys burning was frightening. Le Not So Good: * As others have pointed out, the episode felt rushed. There were concerns before the season about the pacing, but this is in fact the first and only episode this season where I've felt that things were rushed. * Sam leaving Oldtown felt underwhelming. * Jaime and Tyrion reunion lacked the emotional impact I thought it should have had. * By far my biggest grip for the episode: Gendry not mentioning Arya to Jon. It makes me a very sad panda.

9 on a rewatch. Which is to say more like an 8.6 rounded up than an 8.4 rounded down. Still a low nine but it really does work better the second time. It covers A TON of ground but it flows well, which is something many past piece-mover eps. have lacked. And back in s2 and s3 before the show figured out its post s1 pacing again, the piece-movers would be almost all setup with very little payoff and setpieces sprinkled in. Here we still had pretty monumental returns and moments amongst all of the planning and buildup. Its still a lower nine than the ones I gave the premiere and 703 but, since the next two eps. will almost certainly be tens (trust me ) that keeps this season's average as good as it gets. I guess technically it'll end up my least favourite but by so little as to be negligible in the end. This is a strong season. The only question is will it wind up better than s6. As I see it now that only depends on whether its last two 10/10 eps. equal last year's. The WF material I found the strongest. Somehow LF is at his most insidious when he's working at a personal level rather than a diabolical level. He's done so much damage throughout the series but him working to undermine Arya and Sansa's relationship somehow feels like the snakiest shit he's pulled. The whole Arya-snooping-around segment was a great atmospheric, wordless segment from Shakman. It was Arya's training coming into use for detective work, which really makes sense. And that ending shot of LF just sneering in the shadows was probably my favourite moment we've gotten from Gillen in the whole show (and I've had a lot of problems with his earlier work). It just summed up who he is and what he was doing without dialogue.

Probably like a 5. Rough episode. Might go up a bit on rewatch.

A solid 9. I liked it much better than Ep.1 and Ep. 2. Had way funnier lines, more poignant interactions (Dany-Jorah, Tyrion-Jaime, heck even Jon-Hound), a MASSIVE reveal (annulment! marriage! legitimate!) and Drogon (I love dragons). It was clearly a set-up episode, but, imo, it was very well done.

Looking at some of the really low ratings. If I was watching a show and I thought more than half of one of its episodes was bad I'd stop watching it there and then. I wouldn't waste time waiting for it to get better, I'd just stop wasting my time on something I thought could ever be that bad. I just don't get rating an episode of this show like that given the production values and storytelling. I mean, I'm reluctant to even give my least favourite episode of GoT, 202, a six. That even feels too low for that episode, one that I have a million problems with. Anyhow. People will do as they will. I just don't get it.
Anyways, back to the rye.

7.
The writing felt really sloppy at times and the episode was average overall. Especially with some of the Gendry scenes (Gendry is obviously my fave at this point). Most scenes felt reaaally rushed and way too short. Jaime and Tyrion reunion was fantastic tho. Tarly's were a complete waste all around. But yeah, this was just a massive teaser before the next huge episode!

I think it was good, I liked it.
The Jorah / Dany reunion was probably my favourite part of the episode.

Gave it a 9. Despite being really contrived with convenient stuff such as Gendry suddenly joining Jon's team for no reason at all and all the weird time jumps, I thought it was a very enjoyable episode. Starting to dislike Arya a bit, I wished Sansa had slapped her in the face. That team up in the North tho, damn son...

But I think it would've been better to have been shown not told. If we'd gotten a brief scene somewhere, maybe in 702 of him working on Qyburn's scorpion or before 704 of him making weapons for the battle and being miserable in it. Just a minute-long scene is all it would've taken for his return to feel somewhat more earned. But it is what it is.

8. It was a good episode but Hill is still the weakest writer on the show. I always feel like he needs few lines to better explain characters' motivations. We needed more lines at that meeting at Dragnstone and more lines from Gendry to explain his motivation now. D&D and Cogman were able to sell things this season I thought were strange from the leaks, and Hill failed to completely sell something that made perfect sense to me, like for example white hunt. Definitely the weakest episode so far, but I wouldn't blame any of that on Hill. They didn't half give him the most heavy lifting of pretty much any episode of the show. Thought he did a pretty good job considering. This moved crazy amounts of plot, had to balance about 12 different reunions without being repetitive, and was almost entirely told through dialogue. No 'Drogon flies in and burns everyone' in this script. Only a couple of glaring problems in this for me. I haven't read around but can imagine fan response isn't as good as for previous episodes this season, but probably still better than No One. I hope the wight hunt is worth it. 8.

I mean sure he trusts Davos, but it did feel weird.
