This is a thread dedicated to paying tribute to Beric Dondarrion, the Lord of Blackhaven, the Lightning Lord, and the fearless leader of the Brotherhood Without Banners. A champion of the Lord of Light, he has returned from the black void of death six times, and he wields the most badass flaming sword this side of Lightbringer against enemies of justice and acolytes of the Night King alike. The actor portraying him, Richard Dormer, is an excellent and accomplished thespian who portrays the character brilliantly. And against all odds, both he and this amazing character are still with us as Game of Thrones enters its final season. Have at it!

I still can't believe the flaming sword is actually real Both Richard Dormer and the production have talked at length about how difficult it is to wield - it's three times heavier than a normal sword, they can only keep it lit for two minutes at a time, and the safety concerns are obvious. But it's 1000% worth it. Benioff, Weiss, and the rest of the production team has repeated talked about their dedication to using real fire whenever possible, because it's remarkable just how much better real fire looks on screen than CGI fire. And they are absolutely right!

The Brotherhood really needs its own spin off.

The Brotherhood really needs its own spin off. Imagine whole Dorne subplot replaced with the Brotherhood's adventures in the Riverlands. You could have a version of the Riverlands plot from the books and have them bump into Jaime and Brienne and then in S6 have Sandor's return, and have them help Arya kill the Freys.

Yeah, it would have been cool to have Brotherhood and the Blackfish lead an attack on the Twins too. And then in S7 they would still go north, but Arya chooses to go south until she runs into Hot Pie and decides to head to Winterfell.
