I'm really glad the WF storyline finished strong. I thought it was the weakest part for most of the season, but this one it was one of the highlights. The execution was good, but that scene of Arya and Sansa on the battlements...holy fuck. The feels. That's what we've all been waiting for.

10. Maybe the best of this season.
Not better than TWOW. Better than any other finale. Not sure about the Children yet.

I think I liked the storyline better than you as a whole, but I still agree with you. It was much better than what came before. I also think that this episode retroactively elevated the WF storyline for the entire season.

This season and S5 are the only ones that didn't have any 10 episodes for me.

This season and S5 are the only ones that didn't have any 10 episodes for me. Are you telling me that my favourite Thrones episode ever, Hardhome, is not even a 10/10 for you?

10. The Dragonpit was pretty much everything as expected. LITTLEFINGER DYING ON HIS KNEES LIKE A BITCH YEEESSSS AHAHAHAHAHAH YES Cersei and Tyrion. Her fucking screaming at him to shut up, him offering her a glass of wine, all of it was just fucking perfect. Boatsex was hot. They are hot. RHAEGAR AND LYANNA. Cersei and Jaime breakup was very well done. Snow in King's Landing

10. I've handed out a lot of those this season, but why the fuck not? I adored Season 7, and this episode capped it off perfectly.
“The Dragon and the Wolf” was everything that I wanted from a Game of Thrones finale and more. It's one of my favorite episodes of the entire series - definitely Top 5, and possibly even legitimate competition for “The Winds of Winter” upon a few more rewatches. As time wore out, I kept thinking “This is as great as it gets. It can’t possibly get even better.” And then it did! Over and over again!
Special acclaim to Ramin Djawadi’s score. “Truth” and “Army of the Dead” are masterpieces. I’ve been listening to and loving them all weekend, but hearing them in their proper context, accompanying Jon and Dany’s love scene and the fall of the Wall, respectively, they became even more transcendent than they already were.
Special acclaim to the actors as well. Alfie Allen, man. Others have lauded him far more eloquently than I can, but he's incredible. His performance tonight was something else.
And since I'm dishing out acclaim ... I'll shower some on David Benioff & D.B. Weiss. I thought their script absolutely crackled with fantastic dialogue, and this 80 minute episode felt perfectly plotted and paced. They take a ridiculous, totally undue amount of shit, particularly this past week and especially from the book whingers, but I love their work. I'll always be grateful for what they've given us.
Shout out to the Lannister siblings as well. Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau all killed it tonight, especially when they were interacting with one another.
#EPIC Boatsex might have been a shorter scene than some expected, but I thought it was still beautifully filmed and achingly romantic. Kit and Emilia were wonderful. The juxtaposition between Rhaegar and Lyanna's wedding and Jon knocking on Dany's door, underscored by Bran saying "He loved her. And she loved him," was perfect.
The Winterfell storyline finished strong. People will debate whether or not the Stark girls were conspiring all along, but to me it doesn't matter, because the storyline worked for me regardless. Hat tip to Aidan Gillen as well. It was Littlefinger's time to die, and many were justifiably eager to see him go. But he's an original cast member - one of only a very small handful who appeared in all seven seasons to date. He deserves all due respect.
And the Night King riding Viserion the Ice Dragon ... terrifying. I was surprised that Tormund and Beric were still on the Wall when it fell, but we did not see them die. They'll be OK. Run back to Castle Black and link up with Edd. You'll have some stories to tell ... mostly about how everyone in the Seven Kingdoms is royally fucked.
I'll be watching this one many, many times as we head into the long, dark offseason. If we're going to have to 18-24 months for the final season, we hardly could have left off on a better note.

A disappointing end to a disjointed season; ranks just above season 5. Season 8 should be a right hot mess given this one's pacing.

Settled on a ten, watched it three times now. I don't really have complaints so, it's a ten. Plus there's so much stuff I've waited to see that even if some of the episode would have been weaker, they would've made up for it.

Probably an 8. I didn't love it, but it had awesome stuff in it (Winterfell and Cersei scenes).
Dragonpit scene was a major disappointment: they got everyone together and yet somehow it felt like nothing happened. But the intense one-on-one scenes between the Lannisters made up for those failings.
Jon+Theon was great.
Littlefinger's death was pathetic and explosive--best way for him to go.
The biggest failure of this episode is that it should have been iconic and it didn't really pull that off. Felt like a decent, solid mid-season episode imo.

Loooved it.

This was a good fucking episode. Loved the meeting at the Dragonpit. Seing all these characters interact was something else. Funny how even though Dany came down riding a fucking dragon, somehow Cersei still managed to steal everyone's thunder. The magic of Lena Headey. <3 There was so much I loved about it and the scene leading up to it, too much to mention it all, but it was flawless. That CLEGANEBOWL taunt, tho. Such hype, much confirmed. I could not get enough of the scene between Tyrion and Cersei, it was so damn good. So good. I wanted it to last forever. There was such a sincerity to it. They said all the things to each other I wanted them to say, it was damn powerful stuff, and a beautiful, humanizing moment for both these characters. Is it weird that I wished they would forgive each other? I'm not sure if that's even possible at this point, but I think that among all the bad blood, there is still some twisted form of love between Tyrion and Cersei, why else would they be able to hurt each other so easily. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but this scene gave me that impression. And I think that makes their relationship even more compelling. I'd say this was one of the best episodes for both Tyrion and Cersei. I was sceptical, but I'm glad she survived the season. And she continues digging her own grave. "I always knew you were the stupidest Lannister." AWWW, POOR JAIME! The scene between Jon and Theon was equally as powerful. I'm glad they adressed Theon's betrayal. "You're a Greyjoy, and you're a Stark." was a great line. I didn't dig the Winterfell stuff in previous episodes, but this was a strong way to finish it. Sansa gave me massive Queen in the North realness, and I fucking loved every second of it. So glad Littlefinger died like the pathetic little man he's always been. And of course the attack on the Wall was Hardhome-levels of epic and a great way to finish this season off. I'm glad they showed the wedding of Rhaegar and Lyanna, but man ... why did they give Rhaegar the same awful wig as Viserys? I always thought Rhaegar was to Viserys what Brandon was to Ned, but they made them look like twins. Obviously not a big deal, but this is not how I imagined Rhaegar to look like. Ah, well. It wasn't you who found that crucial piece of information though, Sam, was it? It was Gilly. Why you lyin? Not gonna lie, there were several episodes in Season 7 that weren't quite doing it for me, so I'm not sure how I'd rank the season as a whole compared to previous seasons, but this was absolutely brilliant. The tenest ten I've ever given.

Loved just about every scene this episode. This one's getting a 10 from me.
Did you guys notice they actually fucking confirmed CLEGANEBOWL this episode?
