It's getting to be that time of year and I saw Indie Wire said that Emilia is going to be campaigned as Lead Actress this year instead of Supporting like before.
So there's that.

You're a bit late with the news. Both Kit and Emilia will be submit as leads. They were already submit as such to the Golden Globes.

I'm so happy that Game of Thrones won. There was a moment during the show that I was surprised how spread out the wins were becoming with the four drama acting categories going to four different shows - The Americans, The Crown, Game of Thrones and Westworld. Then directing and writing went to The Crown and The Americans and I was sure it was between those two. But Game pulled through with I'm sure all the support from the tech categories voters.

Eh, undeserved win for thrones imo. Not from a 'oh god the show is terrible perspective' (even though I'm not as impressed with it these days) but the competitors were just far superior for me. Doesnt come close to the like of the Americans. Dinklage didn't deserve supporting actor either, should have been NCW, Matt Smith or David Harbour. Big surprise that THT got nothing though. I think that was the shock of the night. Love Mrs. Maisel, well deserved wins there, actresses, writing directing, all very worthy wins. Thandie won supporting actress which I'm happy with Both lead and supporting actress in a drama had brilliant nominees so I wouldn't have been disappointed with any of them winning. Matthew Rhys finally gets his Emmy! Excellent, a shame Keri couldn't share but as I said, lead actress was tough competition. And absolutely deserved the win for writing.

I think next year, for the final season, they'll really win big. Not like they haven't been winning big all these years, but it'll probably be their best year.

Matthew Rhys finally gets his Emmy! Excellent, a shame Keri couldn't share but as I said, lead actress was tough competition. And absolutely deserved the win for writing. There was no way The Americans was going to win. It had no support from the tech branches with 0 nods there and only received 4 nods in the main categories while missing directing. If something else was going to win it was The Crown with 13 nods overall (6 main and 7 techs). But the main surprise besides some winners was the complete meltdown coming from The Handmaid's Tale. From the big winner last year to a complete shutdown this year it makes itself as a one-hit wonder awards-wise. It will probably collapse next year.

I hope there is a way for Lena to win next year, but I'm not sure. Especially since I expect Maisie Williams to be nominated again.
I would't be surprised if Kit and Emilia are nominated for leads next year.
To be honest I could see all 7 main actors nominated next year, including Sophie.
Nutter, Sapochnik and D&D will be nominated for directing. D&D for writing.

I can't believe Lena probably won't win anything for this show. Peter will win his 4th Emmy, confirmed. So will the show as Best Series. D&D or Sapochnik will probably win for directing I agree. Writing... depends on how well the season is received I think.

If Lena walks away without an Emmy it’s a real shame. At least she (and GoT in general) has been recognized year after year though. One of my other favorite shows of all time is The Wire, and it received 2 measly writing noms in 5 years.
