"When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives"
I was weak and watched the episode early. Here are my thoughts on the episode.
The episode was much better than I had anticipated, It’s was a very good episode, Cogman did a much better job than Hill did in episode 1.
Here are my thoughts:
I liked the "council review" of Jaime. Everyone got to have their say and while I'm not crazy about Dany bringing up her dad when that was already resolved last season, it wasn't too egregious. She respected the feedback of both Sansa and Jon, while not being entirely pleased with it, however, once again it showed how Dany listen to counsel and defer to them when she thinks they are right.
Dany reminding Tyrion that he's given her some terrible advice and Tyrion admitting he has been wrong. Probably humbling him a bit.
I thought it was interesting when Tyrion is walking with Jorah and Varys and says to them that before this is all over one of them is going to be wearing the Hand of the Queen pin. Varys is certainly not going to wear it and I thought Jorah might die, but perhaps he won't and there's something else that happens this episode that gives me reasons to believe he might live after all.
Bran telling Jaine, “how do you know there’ll be an afterward.” is not ominous at all.
I liked Dany and Jorah's heart-to-heart. I missed their conversations. Jorah counseling Dany to forgive Tyrion and also to try and find common ground with Sansa is important. He still understands Dany probably better than anyone.
Dany's conversation with Sansa in the library is very good. Again, we see for the second time in the episode Dany taking the advice of her advisors, which is important to show for later. I liked the complement Dany gives Sansa, saying that leading people who don’t want to be lead by a woman is hard but that she’s done a good job of it. I liked how Dany tried to relate to Sansa by reminding her that all her life she’s been fighting to take back the IT from the people who destroyed her family and then mentions these same people also tried to destroy the Starks.. I also liked that Dany was unambiguous about her love for Jon, but I didn’t like that she said that the war was “his war” because they are supposed to be doing this together but alas, the writers aren’t always consistent. Nonetheless, it’s a lovely moment until Sansa brings it back to what’s going to happen after the war and if the North is going to be independent. Dany’s clearly annoyed by this because she was making an effort and connecting with Sansa up to this point. And this, I think has later repercussions.
I loved the scene with Theon's return, he and Sansa hugging was beautiful. I'm shipping them, I don't care if Theon might die. What can I say, I'm a sucker for love.
Bran announcing in the war council that the Night King is after him was interesting. In my opinion, it's a smoke screan. No way do they tell us this early what the Night King is truly after. I think Bran might be playing a chess game, the way Bloodraven seems to be playing it in the books because and he’s not ready to reveal what the Night King is truly after which I still believe is Jon and Dany’s baby.
When Tyrion says he’ll be with the fighters but Dany tells him she wants him in the crypts, it's important, because it shows once again, for the third time in the episode, Dany listening to the advice of her advisors (Jorah again). Also, she gives a public compliment to Tyrion to smooth away the scolding she gave him earlier.
Tyrion staying behind with Bran to listen to his story is again very important because I think that Tyrion will figure or help figure out what the Night King is truly after. Dany had just called him the smartest person there, so they want us to know that the smartest person in Winterfell is on the case.
The northern children being racist towards Missandei and Gray Worm, another point they are trying to make about the xenophobia and racism of the north and how it's not a good thing. But I did like that when they were talking about sailing away once Dany has the IT, though, I suspect Dany might sail away with them.
Tyrion saying he’s not whoring anymore because he’s trying self-betterment sounds good but I also get the impression it might be because of Dany. Also, Tyrion defends Dany to Jaime.
Grendrya - my girl is all grown up.
Jaime knighting Brienne was really nice.
I got a bad feeling about the disagreement between Lyanna Mormont and Jorah. I think the Little Bear might be in danger. Something about it did not sit well with me. Sure the kid is though, but she doesn’t fight, she isn’t Ary and the dead are no joke.
The scene where Sam gives Jorah Harthsbane was a good scene too. Is good to see that whatever animosity might be between Sam and Dany it does not affect his relationship with Jorah.
The final scene is between Jon and Dany in the crypts. It’s a good scene, the reveal is much better for Dany than it was for Jon. Dany, of course, doesn’t believe it at first and she's not happy about the implication of Jon being the male heir to the throne, however, I think there's more going on here than Dany just being angry Jon might have a better claim than her.
I think the conversation Dany has with Sansa about northern independence is very much present in Dany's mind when she heard the reveal from Jon. Sansa insinuating that men do stupid things for love but then Dany answers her by saying she’s there because she loves Jon and so who’s manipulating who. Might be feeding into Dany's trepidation at hearing the news.
Dany could be wondering at the moment if Jon might be manipulating her after all or if not that whether there’s more going on that she [Dany] understands. Because she believes she’s there for good reasons but maybe the Starks reason might not be so good.
However, also in her conversation with Sansa, Dany clearly states that she trust Jon and so when he has a chance to explain everything to her, I believe she'll believe him because of the trust she has for him.
Dany might now have taken the information well at the moment, however, the episode went out of its way to show that Dany is someone who listens, even if when she’s upset or doesn’t always agree with the advice given to her, she listens and she does what’s right.
Also, I love how the matter of incest has still not come up and probably won’t be an issue at all or a very small one at best. Jon did not seem bothered at all about Dany cozying up to him in the crypts. In fact, he held her close to him before he told her the truth and held her hands while he was telling her the truth.
Finally, even after the reveal, Jon and Dany are still in sync with each other. When the horn sounds and they head outside they were of one mind and focused on the mission at hand. I tried to copy the gif from twitter but I was having a hard time. So, it's a video.
Dany/Jon scene in the crypts beautifully acted on both parts, especially Emilia. Still, Dany ... girl, you need to sort out your priorities. I get that she worked her whole life for the Iron Throne to just step aside but not like Jon will usurp anything. He literally has the least amount of interest in it and they're in love. So while I understand she is confused, in denial, frustrated, angry but marriage is the perfect option. She should be a bit more happy that she has another living relative and the one she loves. She admitted it earlier in her scene with Sansa.
Starting to wonder if Dany will really get pregnant because so far nada, zilch, nothing. If she is in later episodes, it means she'll likely survive. The way this is going, Jon might really be the one to die at the end as usually when the baby is born, it raises chances of one of the parents to die. Jon is all about that sacrifice, cheated death many times, true heir but it would be very much in the spirit of GOT to kill him.
Dany/Sansa or Dansa was pretty good and worked out thing well until Sansa brought up the independence of the North. Is it really the right time to ask that?
Sansa/Theon scenes were cute. Theon will die most likely protecting Bran.
The Night King's target is truly Bran. I mean it's logical but he had a very good opportunity to kill him but seems kind of sloppy.
Also, they mentioned that dragonglass has never been tested against The Night King. Foreshadowing?
One of the best scenes were with Tormund story about giants and Brienne knighted by Jaime. He's so gonna die.
Podrick singing 'Jenny of Oldstones' was a beautiful touch while a montage of characters readying for the battle. Foreshadowing or just a cool montage?
Arya and Gendry ... that was unexpected. Does it mean a good or bad thing for them? Who knows.

LIKES
Jaime and Brienne! The way he looked at her and when she stood up for him and he knighted her, ugh. Loved it.
I laughed my ass off at every word out of Tormund's mouth.
GHOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jaime and Bran
Theon and Bran
Theon and Sansa
The war council meeting
Arya and Gendry! It's weird seeing Maisie do a scene like that but after all the foreshadowing of "you have a son, and I have a daughter" I'm glad they waited and did it like this. I'm glad they didn't brush off Melisandre raping Gendry too.
Jorah getting Heartsbane was a beautiful scene.
I loved the Night's Watch men getting back together.
Despite not liking Jonerys, I actually really like how the crypt scene went.
DISLIKES
"Dany" still sounds weird in the show.
Meera should be here. She's killed a white walker too and I hate that she's not part of this.

I really loved the Calm before the Storm vibe. The characters preparing for death, drinking together, and discussing what's brought them all to this moment.
"When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives"
However, also in her conversation with Sansa, Dany clearly states that she trust Jon and so when he has a chance to explain everything to her, I believe she'll believe him because of the trust she has for him.

There is no time for incest angle with AOtD or otherwise, they would have touched on many aspects of this reveal.
But Dany even in promo looked angry. Considering what Emilia told a year ago I do wonder is this it ... bad image Dany might get? If we have Dany vs Jon for some time, not like a real war or Dance of Dragons but this sort of very intense stuff whether he is trusted or not. What are his intentions but Dany was wrong on one thing ... this is not Jon's war, this is THEIR war. She still does not understand that fact. One way or the other AotD would come South and attack them. This is about putting aside their differences and fight together
What she told Sansa was before the reveal and that will shake things up a lot. I think in the end they'll come to agreement or resolution but starting to wonder happy ending with their child might not be that realistic as I initially thought. I speaking of their child. No hints so far.
You're right dragonfire but doubt that'll work. Or even dragonglass, I'd expect something to show up thanks to Sam's books.
So... Theon and Sansa is a thing? Because the scene at the courtyard was something else and it was in the middle of the couples montage.
"Will he howl for me when I’m dead, as Bran’s wolf howled when he fell? Jon wondered. Will Shaggydog howl, far off in Winterfell, and Grey Wind and Nymeria, wherever they might be?"

Welcome to the help dialog for the Custom Mini-Profile Creator plugin!
Click on any of the tabs above to go through the plugin configuration process!
You can access this menu at any time by clicking on the icon in the bottom right bar (may not be applicable if you're on Forums.net), or you can disable the welcome window and/or the icon by going to Plugins > Manage > Custom Mini-Profile Creator and changing the Show Help option.
This step is essential as it gives the plugin everything it needs on the page to get as much profile information as possible.
To make the profile variables work you'll need to add a new line to the very end of Themes > Layout Templates > Mini-Profile and paste the code below on it. The code should be placed completely outside of the mini-profile, so if you're using the default mini-profile template this will be after the very last closing </div> tag. This needs to be done on every theme you have the plugin enabled on as the template is theme-specific.
If your mini-profile template is already customized and you've hit the variable limit for your template you're free to remove any lines from the code below if they contain information that you don't plan on using. For example, if you have no plans to ever add a user's IP to their mini-profile for staff reference you can remove <div class="mp-info ip">$[user.ip]</div> from the code and everything else will still work just fine.
Once you've added the HTML from the Layout Templates tab you're ready to move on to building your mini-profiles. If you want to get going and try some out now or you're not very adept at HTML, CSS, or Javascript, worry not! This plugin includes some examples for you to try out. You're free to skip to the Custom Profile Fields tab and read over this tab later when you're ready to build your own.
Here's a quick rundown of each of the components in Plugins > Manage > Custom Mini-Profile Creator:
Name This is the name you'll be adding to your custom profile field dropdown once you've finished coding the mini-profile. Pretty self-explanatory. Make sure this name is unique from every other name you use for your mini-profiles or you'll end up overwriting the earlier ones in the list.
HTML This is the HTML that will go inside your mini-profile. You can use just about any HTML tag here so long as it's appropriate for where the mini-profile is showing on the page. Please refrain from using <style> or <script> tags here. You have the next two sections for that! Also, remember that mini-profiles can show multiple times on the same page, so you shouldn't add ID attributes to any of your elements here. Two elements on the same page cannot have the same ID per HTML standards.
CSS This is where you'll place what would normally go in your forum's style sheet or what would normally be between <style> tags. Try to code your mini-profile's HTML in a way that will allow you to target it specifically with your selectors. For example, you can surround all of the content in your HTML with a <div> element with a class and target that class and its child elements specifically with your CSS. That way you don't accidentally target every mini-profile on the page with CSS that was meant for the one you're building. One more thing: The forum theme's CSS still applies beforehand, so your mini-profile may look right in one theme but not in another. The best way to circumvent this is to define as many styles as you can to override the theme's CSS.
Javascript Anything that normally goes between <script> tags will go here. This one's a bit tricky since you'll obviously want to target the custom mini-profile specifically. Luckily there's an easy way to do that. In your statements you can use the $(this) variable to target the mini-profile if you're coding using jQuery. Otherwise, if you only plan on using standard Javascript you can target $(this)[0] instead.
Once you've finished building your mini-profiles it's finally time to add them to the Edit Profile page for use! To enable selection of custom mini-profiles you'll first need to add two specific custom profile fields in Members > Custom Profile Fields in your forum's admin area:
Mini-Profile Theme
Staff Mini-Profile Theme
Mini-Profile Theme is for mini-profiles that are designed for member use. You can set the Who Can Edit option for this field to Staff With Power if you only want staff to be able to choose mini-profiles for users. Otherwise, if you want members to freely be able to choose their own mini-profiles you can choose Members and Staff With Power.
Staff Mini-Profile Theme is for mini-profiles designed specifically for staff use. This field is completely optional.
Set the type for both of these fields as Drop Down Selection. Click on the (View/Edit) link to add mini-profile names to each of these fields.
If you've just installed this plugin you should have three different mini-profiles already installed by default: Example 1, Example 2, and Example 3. You can add these to your dropdowns to test them out and see the plugin in action.
If you're having trouble getting this plugin to work despite following the instructions in the previous tabs you may want to check that each of your themes meets the prerequisites below in Themes > Layout Templates > Mini-Profile.
First, ensure that opening tag of your mini-profile template includes the $[miniprofile_class] variable in its class. On the default ProBoards theme it should look something like this:
<div class="$[miniprofile_class]">
Next, make sure that the default {foreach} loop for custom fields is present inside your mini-profile. It doesn't need to be visible, so you're free to add it inside a hidden element if you don't plan on displaying it or if it would mess up the appearance of your own custom template.
Beyond that you can do whatever you like to the mini-profile template for the most part and it shouldn't negatively impact the plugin.
The following is a list of available variables for use in the HTML section of the mini-profile creator and their definitions. Adding any of these to a mini-profile will generate the content described in its definition in place of the variable so long as the information that variable outputs is visible to you.
To reference your forum's custom profile fields you can use $[user.customfieldname], substituting "customfieldname" with your custom field's name. You'll need to type the name in all lowercase with no spaces and only use characters A-Z and 0-9.
For example, Mini-Profile Theme becomes $[user.miniprofiletheme]. This will output the value of the custom field. In the case of this example, it'll be the name of the mini-profile theme you've chosen in your profile.
IMPORTANT NOTE: These will only work if you followed the steps in the Installation tab of this window on each of your themes. Any themes that do not include the template code specified there will not have these variables replaced in the mini-profile.

You can utilize the $(this) variable in the Javascript component to target the mini-profile <div> element. For example, if you wanted to add a class to the mini-profile you can use:
$(this).addClass('class-name-here');
Profile variables can also be used in the Javascript component in this plugin. In Javascript the value undefined is used to signify that a value doesn't exist for the variable you've specified. With this in mind you can use profile variables in Javascript conditional statements within the plugin similar to how they're used in the actual layout templates section of the admin area.
if(variable) will only run if the variable you specify has a value.
if(!variable) will only run if the variable you specify has no value.
Example 1 (variable has value):
if(user.group){
$(this).find('.group').show();
}
If the user has their group displayed in their profile the above Javascript would make the HTML below visible if you had it hidden with CSS.
