With Vinyl cancelled HBO better shoehorn Juno Temple into s7 somehow. I'm looking forward to Westworld! It won't tank ... I hope ... *edit: nevermind it starts in Oct so it won't even be on the same time as GoT next year. HBO is pouring all their gold coins into their cash cow.

Arya better be a good niece and free Edmure while she's at the Twins. Anything for more Menzies, he was great in 608. glad someone else cares about poor lord floppy fish. tptb must have kept him alive for a reason right?

I wonder how that's going to work going forward now that walder and sons are dead. I'm sure he has plenty of other sons or nephews to keep the Frey line going but will Edmure finally be freed or Riverrun given back at some point next season? I guess that depends on the Lannister aftermath and Jaime.

Now that he's more acclaimed in Outlander rather than just being Brutus in Rome, I imagine there's more of an incentive to give him something to do in the show.

I do think they'll want to bring Tobias back too, he's great. That last scene between him and Jaime really was intense. I'd love to see more of him. If they condense things down to just a few focal areas in season 7 let's hope riverrun and the twins play roles in the war against the night king being central locations everyone is familiar with.

It has only just occurred to me that seasons 5 and 6 have had a very specific trajectory.
In season 5 it managed to place people who need to be in the northern group in the north and season 6 was for them to become one team (although there will be conflict within that team). Although the Nights Watch aren't in Winterfell, they are still part of the same team as they are aligned with the same fight. It also placed the Knoghts of the Vale in the north too as they will be aligned for that fight. It is just Bran and Meera who are the current stragglers. So season 5 northern set up, season 6 northern and vale combined payoff.
Nothing happened in the Riverlands in season 5, however we have season 6 we have the re-introduction of the key Riverlands characters. I'm expecting that season 7 will be bringing the Riverlands characters together so they at the end can set off for their final showdown in the north. Season 6 characters being placed in the right area, season 7 is the payoff and the uniting together.
For the south, we have the aligning of the 2 causes so season 6 will be the meeting of those 2 causes and probably the resulting battle. Whoever is left after Queenbowl will be in place for season 8 to go north for the battle of the Dawn. Again, season 6 characters coming together, season 7 payoff. You could say Meereen mirrored the north as the main characters came together in season 5 whilst the main protagonist disappeared for a few episodes in season 6 and was ready for the south for season 7.
Again there is the straggler called Sam, I think he will join with Dany to head north.
So by the end of season 7 it will be down to just 3 different groups of people. Season 7 is the set up for those groups and season 8 will see them unite against one cause.
Season 1-4 was the main introduction, fracturing of groups and expanding their locations section of the story.
Season 5-7 will be the convergence and power building section of the story for the main protagonists (with additional backstories).
Season 8 will be unification, conclusion and fallout part of the story.
I hope my post made sense. I'm just thinking that there is a specific layout to the story and would give us a fair idea of where the show is going.

I'm sure somewhere they have a board with their master outline from start to finish on it. What some of us would give to have a peek at that secret place! I do agree on the gradual funnel effect the seasons have been having on the story as it condenses down to the main characters and end plots. As epic as it's all been, I'm really ready to see things come together on one stage now and see how the remaining players work together and how they play off one another. I know there's still conflict to come in season 7 but it feels more compact now that we know the focus is turning towards the biggest threat arriving with winter.

Had an idea of what will happen at the wall for season 7. Bran will cross and start preparing for the journey to Winterfell from Castle Black. He'll learn that Jon is KitN via a raven. However, I think that the wall will start to crack. The whitewalkers won't initially be able to cross until it has fallen. The wall will fall at the end of the season, but it won't be a huge shock. Winterfell is protected by the same magic I presume as the wall and the cave. That means that Bran cannot return to Winterfell until the Whitewalkers are defeated. Someone mentioned that they had a suspicion that when a Stark loses their direwolf, they either die or lose their Stark identity. Robb is dead, Rickon is dead, Sansa lost Lady and everyone insists she is now a Bolton or a Lannister, Bran lost Summer and he is now the Three Eyed Raven. For Jon to defeat the Whitewalkers, if he must ride a dragon, he has to lose his Stark identity which means Ghost must die ( ). Arya is currently lost and has no identity. Nymeria is in the Riverlands and I believe they need to be reunited for Arya to regain her Stark identity. There must always be a Stark in Winterfell and to me that suggests that Arya must be the Stark in Winterfell to keep the magic alive. The direwolves deaths are significant and I think that will be the same book and show. Grey Wind dies, Robb dies. Shaggydog dies, Rickon dies. Summer dies, winter comes. Ghost dies, Jon becomes a Targaryan. Sansa is the one I can't place. It will probably make sense, but losing Lady, does it mean she will never be a ruling lady? Does it mean she will be a Queen? Does it mean she will be content and end up with Sandor? Not sure I can see SanSan in the show. Maybe she represents a world without magic. It is hard to pin down what Sansa's importance is in the grand scheme of things and the wars to come. The fact that she has survived so long without a direwolf or magical abilities or special skills that could involve magic suggests she must be important. Sansa's trajectory is the biggest mystery to me out of the Starks. I currently cannot see what the long term point in her character being around is right now. So my conclusion is that in season 7 Ghost will die and Arya will reunite with Nymeria.

You think he's just gonna stay at CB and then when the wall falls...what?
