Jon didn’t even tell Dany he loved her back. Asshole. Was I the only one extremely disappointed that none of them ever said "yuck, we're aunt and nephew"? I had to wait for fucking Varys to say it

Lol what a shitty title. Should've had something like.. um... Yeah. Guess I can't complain because I can't think of anything better.

I know we're hating on Sansa right now, but Sophie looked stunning throughout this entire episode. Her hair, makeup, expressions - the cold suits her. And I did like that she went to talk to the Hound.....that was actually one of my favorite scenes.

Jon didn’t even tell Dany he loved her back. Asshole. Good point! I missed that. No I love you back, no Ghost snuggles....he's colder than the North. I know GRRM said the Jon that comes back from death would be changed. Colder or more ruthless or some such. I just wish Tyrion would have brought up what the Starks did to Ramsey when they were discussing their fears about Dany. It was even mentioned in this episode by Sansa. What would Jon do if his enemies killed Arya in front of him? Something tells me it wouldn’t be pretty...

This episode was called “The Last of the Starks”... What does that even mean? I guess its Jon? Dopey and dumb as always. Cause Sansa is now a dumber version of Baelish, Bran is a tree and Arya is no one. Jon was the last Stark with a direwolf and he just threw him away like he was some old stuffed wolf doll. Maybe whoever names the episodes was shaming him for it.

I’m just so shellshocked that this ending is really so much sadder/darker than anything I expected. I wouldn’t say the writing is the problem, because it’s being executed well enough, I suppose, but this is just some nihilistic shit.
Hero spends the entire series trying to make the world a bettter place, country doesn’t accept her, allies turn against her or are murdered in front of her, the family of the man she loves conspires against her....
Maybe I’m just a pussy but this is a little hard for me to watch.

One thing I immediately noticed with that shitty-wall standoff is the parallel (again) between Jon and Daenerys in this face-off with their enemy.
At Battle of the Bastards, Jon watched Ramsay set him up and taunt him with Rickon, his little brother and he impulsively broke the line and ran for him. In this episode, we watch Daenerys be faced with the same sort of taunting with Missandei, a woman she considers as close as her little sister - and she breaks the line to go for her dragon. This was a setup and callback to Jon doing the same thing - a foolish rush of anger because the enemy got to them with psychological warfare.

And I did like that she went to talk to the Hound.....that was actually one of my favorite scenes. Well she was using other facial expressions than just her royal Sansa-look so there is that, you're right I hate the expression she had on in the first episode and I feel like through all of last season.

I'm just so bothered by it all, really. And the beginning of the episode had so many good scenes.

Maybe I’m just a pussy but this is a little hard for me to watch. No, you're not. This was a really tough (and unexpected) episode to stomach for many reasons. All the jokes aside as I'm trying to just maintain my shit and laugh a little, that episode was seriously dark and a major mindfuck. It was the first time I was glad for that close to black screen.

Jon and Ghost just looking at each other was bullshit, they should have at least touched. They share a deep bond and up North is the best place for him, but they didn't go a proper goodbye. I should've expected it after Bran/Meera last season.

Well I find it interesting the reactions to this episode. For me, this episode in many ways felt like a return to the game of thrones I enjoyed from the outset.
None of the portrayals of anyone in this episode seemed out of character for me - especially the key players.
Sansa is really a ruler now, and does what she needs to do politically. Love her or hate her but she is a product of necessity. Don't hate the player, hate the game... of .. yeah
Dany is who she's always been. Reactive, emotional, a poor tactician. She blunders into a lot of things because of her faith in destiny. She's now stuck between a truth which will only grow bigger and overtake her, and dwindling assets and worse her legitimacy which is lent her by the very person who has the more legitimate claim. When cornered, and she is cornered, her bad side is coming out with a passion and it's losing her support. The Tarlys were a red flag. She's not her father, she says. Well okay this would be a good time to demonstrate that.
and finally Jon .. Aegon... is naive and principled to a fault. He can't do it alone my god the poor guy is such a doof. He's completely oblivious to the plots around him. If may not seem this way, but he needs Dany more than she needs him. The mantle of the throne is going to fall on him, and he'll go the same route as Eddard without someone to help him navigate that.
Before this episode came out, KH let slip in an interview that these upcoming episodes were Shakespearean and my god was it. It was hard to watch because I realized it wasn't going to be visceral bloodletting but it was going to be emotional bloodletting. Swords and grunting is so much easier to watch.
Watching dany stumble over her own shortcomings, being impatient and not learning from her mistakes was painful - enormously painful to watch but damn that was a good story.
It feels a little like I might be in a minority here, but that was some great storytelling and I enjoyed it. Not a lot of fan service, but that's okay too. I can be told a story that makes me uncomfortable.
Also - We don't know why Jaime is going back to king's landing. There's a part of the prophecy that has not yet been fulfilled.
Also what the hell happened to King's Landing? It's like the special effects guys forgot to add a city behind it. It was terrible. Not quite as terrible as the Bron scene, but still.
