Bran seemed weirdly low key power hungry With his whole "Why do you think I came all this way". There were definitely issues left unresolved, Bran should've at least made an effort to pretend to use his powers for good or be called out for not doing that. It's a shitty thing to do, let others suffer and take the heat for everything and then just roll up and be all kingly-king. I assume though that all this is something George doesn't have answers to either. It's obvious that if he had a clear vision of the story he would've just written it.

I totally loved Ser Brienne of Tarth as the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard writing down all the accomplishments of Ser Jaime Lannister. Also, Ser Podrick Payne was cute and unexpected touch. This was one of the things I really wanted to happen over the years, for Ser Jaime to get his pages in the book. I would've wanted her to re-write the part with Aerys though.

I get the idea of Bran as he's omnipresent. Lying to him is pointless as he will always know the truth. He's a peaceful person. That is truly why it makes sense. He will actually see how the smallfolk are faring. He can tell the stories of what is really happening in Westeros and the council can act accordingly. Do they actually need a Master of Whisperers?
Bran almost laughing was the biggest shock of the episode. He might develop a personality.
Biggest letdown is the brothel joke never being finished.
I found the Jon and Arya goodbye scene more emotional than the reunion.
I think Bran gave Jon what he deep down wanted. It wasn't a sentence, it was freedom. He knew what Jon would do, and so did the Night's Watch. If Jon wanted to return to the north, Bran no longer has any authority over the matter, it is Sansa's concern. She'd welcome Jon back with open arms.
I want to know what's west of Westeros.
Dany's dream was fulfilled. The wheel was broken. But it took her sacrifice to enable it. There needed to be a genuine threat to her, and that threat was Jon.
I loved it, but I'm not sure if I could rewatch it for a while.
The episode was beautifully shot. Although I was initially dubious about Tyrion's beard. It looked odd.

The shot of Drogon's wings rising up behind Dany at that start of the ep was one of the cooler shots I've seen on TV. I agree that the directing in the ep is probably its best quality.
Sansa having "Queen in the North" chants directed at her was not something I knew I needed until it happened.
Love Arya's notion of sailing West where the maps end. That's a very Nymeria move.
Brienne writing Jaime's page in the Kingsguard book was perfect too.
It seemed to snow very sporadically in King's Landing, that kind of came out of nowhere. I really like the final end with Jon taking the Wildlings North of the Wall but they really didn't need the confusion of a new NW. I really feel like they should have just said "you're exiled", he chooses to go North of the Wall which is where he feels the most at home now. Don't pretend you need or suddenly have this brand new NW with absolutely no known threat to guard against. But still, love where he ended.

Well ... as an unsullied who managed to remain unsullied for everything but the Bran becomes king part (and ffs I honestly thought that was a JOKE when I read it in a reply on youtube) I was dutifully confused, shocked, in-tears and loved/hated it as much as I loved/hated episode 5 too. And honestly, I'm much more coherent this time and have had a week to chew on this. It's NOT that the story took Daenerys to the dark side. I could have handled that all along, it's HOW they did it that I'm still just not able to swallow. Her death wasn't any better either. It just felt so forced and weird. Sorry guys... all the beautiful cinematography, CGI and great acting everyone poured into it just can't cover up how difficult it is for me to be sold on Jon killing Dany (and that was one of my three ending guesses) like that, or Bran being 'voted' king and saying "why do you think I came all this way?" ... that's just. ugh. Ok ok... I actually LIKED a lot of things too ... I liked Drogon's ending with Jon (thought for sure he might roast Jon anyway for a second there and was gonna be ok with that but probably not ok with that lol) ... I actually LIKED Jon going north of the wall (sure didn't guess that one). I LIKED Brienne writing Jaime's knight deeds page. I especially liked Arya going west of Westeros, best ending for her. I even was ok with the fancy queen/crown ending for Sansa as Queen in the North. She earned that. So I hope this quick summary (no shock here, I'm pretty resigned to the ending we got) shows as a Dany fan, I'm trying hard to be fair and concise. I'm not raging or freaking out at all. I'm glad they killed Daenerys off because if that's honestly how she goes in the books I'm glad I know now instead of pining for the books for years and years. Fuck, I've been a fan for as long as some of you have been alive (that's not an exaggeration either - my oldest son is 25 this year and was a baby when the first books came out). I didn't really put a lot into the first 2 or 3 books way back then... It wasn't until AFFC that I honestly became invested in the saga (had to go back and re-read the first ones again). But yeah, I've loved Daenerys and Arya most of all throughout this whole long epic journey and well.. hey at least 1 out of 2 getting a good ending isn't bad, right? Right?!

I didn't like the first 40 minutes of this episode (checked my watch when Dany was killed because it seriously only felt like 15 minutes) but the rest of it worked far more than I imagined it would.

I want to know what's west of Westeros. #THIS From "Fire and Blood", supposedly there are hints that you could reach Essos by sailing west from Westeros, but GrrM never detailed what lands are in between.

Drogon nudging Dany's body almost made me cry. I normally don't get emotional over the dragons but I felt terrible watching that.

Agreed. Everything leading up to Dany's death felt really weird and off-beat to me but after that, it's like they got the groove going for a proper 'epilogue' and I could enjoy it, even the cheesy first council meeting. I'm glad they did that and Bronn got his damn payment I guess. Thank heavens they gave Jon a bittersweet north of the wall ending because I was really starting to wonder if there was going to be any good for either of them. Still struggling with it but I'm trying!

Although I was initially dubious about Tyrion's beard. It looked odd. I guess Jon belongs in the real North as Tormund put it rather than at Winterfell. It always felt that way that freefolk is where is home really is, ever since Ygritte. Dany's HotU vision came true and she touched the Iron Throne. Why didn't Drogon just fried Jon I'll never know. As if he knew throne corrupts people but more logical is that creatively it made sense to Weiss and Benioff. I'm still unsure of what to think of Bran being the King but I suppose your reasoning makes it more believable. He knows, sees everything and will be just or more than others before him. Also, Sam is a Maester but has a family which is against the rules.

Jealous of those that loved it or were even moved to tears. Wish it would have evoked that much emotion from me. Didn’t hate it (other than King Bran), but it left me feeling kind of hollow. The only two scenes that even came close to getting to me were Drogon nudging Dany’s body and Jon with Ghost at the end.
