Dany’s speech was chilling. I’m honestly shocked at how much I loved everything. I read the leaks so I was expecting to hate it but...I think they actually pulled it off? They pulled off everything post Daenerys but I don't think they pulled off her death well. And I hated that she was so happy and smiling before Jon stabbed her. I would've taken it better had they been fighting or something, I think.

Dany’s death made me sad. Yes. And seeing her even more mad this ep than last one was even sadder to me than her death.

I know she just burned a bunch of innocent people but I kept thinking "aren't you guys being a bit hard on her?" I feel you. But seriously, not 'a bunch.' Hundreds of thousands of innocents, little kids, women, peasants, poor people. And vowed to do the same 'from Winterfell to Dorne.' Yikes, freeing them from...what, exactly? Being alive and not burned to a crisp? Yeah I still don't think Dany was mad in the sense that she had completely lost her mind but she wasn't acting rational either, she seemed delusional and too adamant to be reasoned with. She was the only thing people of the north needed to be freed from and as for the other places, she knew nothing of them or the people living in those places. And it all breaks my heart.

Bran seemed weirdly low key power hungry With his whole "Why do you think I came all this way". There were definitely issues left unresolved, Bran should've at least made an effort to pretend to use his powers for good or be called out for not doing that. It's a shitty thing to do, let others suffer and take the heat for everything and then just roll up and be all kingly-king. I assume though that all this is something George doesn't have answers to either. It's obvious that if he had a clear vision of the story he would've just written it. Bran knew KL would burn so he could be king. But do you go pre crime and start arresting people. Bran seems to do things to protect himself while everyone around him dies. Like the NK, "Thanks Theon" oh wait shit Ary... never mind. Jon you were where you were suppose to be, behind a rock. Oh lord, don't think to much just turn your brain off and look at the pretty pictures.

I'm going to focus on the positives: I've been Team Stark from day 1, so loved that all the remaining Starks are still alive somewhere in the world. Ghost. Jon has been my hero from the beginning too - it was always his perspective I looked forward to in the books and Kit was exactly what I imagined him as so while his ending was truly bittersweet, I am happy that his was the ONE character they didn't mess with - he stayed true to who he was until the very very end. In fact, Jon reminded me SO much of Ned Stark in this episode. The way he carried his body - the way he walked. The way he reluctantly stayed true to his "Queen" until he (like Ned) finally realized that what is right must win over honor. Kit will never get the respect he deserves as an actor - he was truly brilliant in these last two episodes. Sansa looked bad ass and finally got her crown. The Brienne/Book scene - omg, one of the very best. And Drogon not killing Jon - I read this scene as Drogon having the consciousness to know Dany met the end she was supposed to - and while he cried for his mother, he knew Jon was right. Maybe that's just me in my head seeing what I wanted to, but it made sense to me, especially with him burning the throne (which was awesome). Everything with Arya was perfect. I

Especially when she said she'll free everyone from Winterfell to Dorne. That was the "oh shit" moment. But it was fascinating in a very weird way that she saw it as a normal thing, I know it's wrong but when explaining it to Unsullied, Dothraki, Jon it was kind of sad, as you said chilling the way she said it in such a casual manner like nothing happened. I guess I'm going mad too.

Dany's death didn't seem fair. I know she just burned a bunch of innocent people but I kept thinking "aren't you guys being a bit hard on her?" Ha, you sound like Jon.

Dany's HotU vision came true and she touched the Iron Throne. Why didn't Drogon just fried Jon I'll never know. As if he knew throne corrupts people but more logical is that creatively it made sense to Weiss and Benioff. I read a very interesting essay/article about GRRM's symbolism of the throne being a different sort of 'corruption' than the one-ring for Tolkien's saga but at the same time somewhat similar. It's just hit me how very much that symbolism works now that I've seen the ending and Drogon melted the throne. Whereas the ring was pure evil and corrupted those who possessed it, the throne was just an inanimate object that held no powers but those who sat on it held the power of it and decided how to use it ...for good or evil, or everything in between. Much as Littlefinger once said about the realm in his infamous chaos speech, it's the "thousand blades" of Aegon's enemies, a story we agree to tell one another over and over until we forget that it's a lie... and the throne doesn't even have a thousand blades in it! It's just a stupid (uncomfortable) metal chair that represents the power that people want it to represent. And so, in the end, Drogon melting this 'symbol' of power, was sort of like the one ring falling into the lava of Mount Doom. Not because Frodo threw it in ... he didn't! He and Gollum fought over it and Gollum fell and the ring went with him. Jon didn't destroy the throne or the power of it even though he did destroy Daenerys to keep her from destroying more. He wasn't any more heroic than poor Frodo fighting with Gollum in the end and Drogon finished off the job in a symbolic sort of way. That's really the best part of the ending for me. Actually, that is pretty interesting and I might have read it somewhere before. GRRM loves symbolism and JRR Tolkien's work even if the Iron Throne looked weird. I guess we should've seen it coming since that poster for season 8 came out with Drogon face, eyes and just sort of symbolism of looking like a throne. He burned it to the ground.

Dany’s death made me sad. Dany died last episode. Yeah, I'm going to be really honest here, the entire thing ended for me last episode too. Everything in this finale was just sort of an epilogue without knowing the details of how we got to the epilogue. I knew there was no way Daenerys was going to keep her power no matter how "Sith Lord" they made her speech and lined-up unsullied look (and that's the vibe I got from it, very dark side emperor kind of stuff) ... no wonder D&D are wanting to make a Star Wars series, they already got warmed up with their ending for Daenerys! The show ended when the bells rang.

I was never a fan of Dany, but man she must be the most tragic chapter in the show so far.
All the other characters has at least a proper farewell and was satisfied with what they have at the end. Cersei and Jaime reunited and left the world together, Theon was accepted by the Starks, Robb and Cat died tragically but at least they have each other’s back until the very end.
Dany lost her friends, her dragons, her advisors betrayed her, she turned the city to ashes, and the man whom she trust ended up betraying her. No farewell, no crown, no love. She was stabbed and just died like nothing happened.
