I don't think it matters unless Ramsay warged into his hounds. Otherwise House Bolton is extinct. Well, we weren't really discussing that anyway.

Doubt it. There are too many people with Martell blood in the books/show for it to go completely extinct, even if all the trueborns die. Same with House Tyrell. Willas and Garlan don't exist in the show, but there is at least one other member of House Tyrell still around in the show (who will probably be forgotten about, admittedly) so it's not gone for good (yet). Arianne most likely dies along with fAegon, Doran and Trystane are doomed too IMO. I don't know if the Sand Snakes survive, but House Martell is already extinct in the show, and it will probably die in the books too. House Yronwood (Martells' Boltons) will take Dorne, I'd imagine Yronwoods will support Dany (isn't their heir at Meereen?), so I see. Sand Snakes won't matter shit, even if Dorne has a more open approach towards bastards. House Baratheon is also extinct, even if Robert has dozens of bastards running around the kingdom. Because isn't that what an extinct house means? House with no trueborn members. no, and quent's friends were not pro-dany even when he was alive.

Sure thing:
Cersei Lannister Qyburn Gregor Clegane Viserion Rhaegal Ellaria Sand Sand Snakes Petyr Baelish Euron Greyjoy Beric Dondarrion Thoros of Myr
Maybe
Jaime Lannister Sandor Clegane Yara Greyjoy Melisandre Jorah Mormont Grey Worm Melisandre Theon Greyjoy Randyll Tarly Meera Reed
Basically everyone fall into one category or the other, with the exceptions of Jon, Daenerys, Tyrion, Sansa, Bran and Arya, who are all safe until the last episodes of Season 8, IMHO.

I'm not so sure. I could see them doing a big character death at the end of season 7, then again Cersei and Jaime may be just that. Everything past season 7 is endgame though, so I guess it depends as to whether or not they have Jon and Dany join forces...

I'd seen that some cast members (Nikolaj and Lena included) were to get a pay rise for future seasons, and just assumed that meant they were in for both, but apparently it doesn't mean that and they may not actually survive season 7 so I'm now quite confident that at least Cersei will be gone.

And when s8 comes around the question will be more "who actually survives?" rather than "who dies?"

And when s8 comes around the question will be more "who actually survives?" rather than "who dies?" Out of the main characters right now Best Chance of surviving - Sam, Gilly, Sansa, Tyrion, Bran, Jon, and Davos In the middle about - Arya, Sandor, Theon, Varys, Missandei, Ellaria, Tormund, and Bronn Will Likely Die: Jaime, Cersei, Dany, Mel, LF, Brienne, and Jorah And I'd say Jaime, Cersei, and LF will be the three big deaths of S7. Possibly Mel too.

Of course they are friends in the show, so it probably won't happen. Show Varys isn't interesting at all anymore IMO. I don't think Mel will be important from now on, really. It seems to me that they only sent her south so she could meet Arya again. As for the characters who survive this mess, I'd say: Jon, Tyrion, Sansa, Bran, Davos, Sam, Gilly, Yara/Theon (not both, Theon probably dies), and Bronn. Cersei, Dany, Littlefinger, Mel, and Varys are goners. I'm still on the fence about Jaime. If I had to say if he dies or lives, my answer would be "dies", but really I'm not sure. Tyrion will get the Rock in the end, anyway.

Tyrion will get the Rock in the end, anyway. Why do you think Tyrion would kill Varys, what would be his motivation to do that? Just curious. Also, if Melisandre wasn't playing any further part in the main story, why have her say that to Arya at all? I always figured it meant they'd meet in some strange way (via Arya's assassin job or something) that was central to the story and main characters. Having Mel go south helps the chances for that now because I don't think Arya is going straight north to Winterfell yet in Season 7.

I agree, since Varys has revealed his intentions and serving Daenerys 100% now there's very little complexity or appeal to his character IMO. He was always better when he was mysterious rather than being out in the open. Before the finale, I thought he'd meet Daenerys in Westeros because he arranged for her assassination, but I guess Tyrion just explained Varys' position off-screen. As for his fate, I think he'll survive for that reason. I don't see an interesting way for him to die at all so he probably won't.

While I agree Varys was more intriguing in King's Landing as the master of whispers, how long could that go on until we found out his ulterior motives? I always suspected it was to rebuild the lost dynasty of the Targaryens because he's always working "for the realm" which was torn apart with Robert's Rebellion. Even though yes, Aerys was mad and needed taken out, I think he was always on their side and tried to save the children so for his arc to come full circle in serving Daenerys is not really surprising nor is it boring, it's just the ending of his story. It may be a lot more complicated in the books of course, since there's fAegon to consider as well.

All Hail House Maybe! Long may it reign uncertainty! 2 weeks later, and I notice the typo. Dayne. Dayne. But House Maybe would make fine rulers for Dorne. Like, Maybe things will turn out ok?
