I've been playing CK2 with the ASOIAF mod lately! But I still don't know how the fuck this game works. The tutorials are way too much effort and I just want to know how to play it, but it's a lot of work My current dilemma: I'm playing as Joffrey and I have loads of vassals/lords who are loyal to me, but... I have no fucking clue how to guide their armies? Is it even possible? Do they do whatever they want? Can I point them in the right directions? Halp Nezzer

Halp Nezzer If you click and drag over an area, you can select all of your armies and move them to any region you want by right(I think)-clicking. They'll also combine into one bigger unit when they're in the same regions. You should really only raise those armies when they're needed or when you're at war though, because having an army raised for too long can have negative effects on the loyalty and happiness and all that crap of lords and castles they came from.

Yeah, I know how to do that but it only works for armies that are commanded by me directly. But for example, the Lannister armies or the Tyrell armies, even though they are pledged to me and on my side, I can't seem to control them in this way at all. Idk how to move them

I'm playing as Joffrey with the ultimate aim of installing the Rightful Queen in the North on her throne If CK2 GoT seems complicated, practice with the Night's watch. I once did a Karstark play through and married one of the Karstarks to Sansa and gave Winterfell to her.. I also did this with house Umber.

I have no fucking clue how to guide their armies? Is it even possible? Do they do whatever they want? Can I point them in the right directions? Halp Nezzer CK2 is very feudalistic regarding armies. You have your own personal levies, raised from your own demesne, the lands you have direct control over, and your vassal levies, who they raise from their own lands or from their vassals and hand over to you. However, you can only raise levies from your direct vassals, not from the vassals of your vassals. Let's say that you, playing as King Richard the Lionheart, want to raise the levies of the Duke of Hwicce for your Crusade. You can easily do that and raise most of his levies and directly control it, sure, but you will not raise all of them, so he can still raise some of his own if he wishes to to fight another war with some rival duke. But, if you want to raise the levies of the Count of Oxford, Duke of Hwicce's vassal, you can't do that, because only the Duke of Hwicce can raise those levies. That said, the GoT mod for CK2 is somewhat different, at least in Westeros. When one of the Seven Kingdoms rebels or when the Crown attacks an independent region or is attacked by a foreign power, the megawar mechanic of the mod breaks Westeros up and makes each of the kingdoms within it virtually independent, giving them the option to side with the crown, to remain neutral or to join the war against the crown. Either way, they remain in full control of their armies. As Joffrey, if the Tyrells join you, you can't control Mace Tyrell's army, he will only join as an ally and his armies will fight beside you (colored blue as you might have noticed), but not under you. So yes, they will do as they please. Still, most of the time they will follow your armies and will go after the enemy and seize strategically important territories. However, you can raise the levies from your vassals in the Crownlands and control them just as I said in the first paragraph, which is how it works too during peacetime, in which you can raise and control House Tyrell's armies, but you can't raise House Tarly's armies. The size of all these armies is also influenced by how the vassals like their liege lords. If everyone hates Mace Tyrell, his vassals will give him only a small share of their armies, and if Mace hates your guts too, he will only give you a small share of that small share he got.

The megastar mechanic is so dumb. I was playing as Balon and had an army of 15000 attacking the North and then all of a sudden EVERY ONE of my vassals went independent to fight against the fucking Brotherhood Without Banners and my army shrank to 5000. Needless to say the war didn't go very well from there.
