It seems Lena won't win again. Ann Dowd is front runner According to what I've read Ann Dowd winning last year was a surprise. She's a veteran who was never rewarded, and more importantly she was the sole HMT actor in that category; now there are 3 including her. There is a huge potential they will split the vote. So Lena does have a chance, but in that scenario she will have to beat Thandie Newton of Westworld-who basically carried that show in season 2 and is a fan favorite.

The Lannister siblings definitely earned those nods in the last episode!
So now Nikolaj joins Peter, Lena, Kit, Emilia, Maisie, Diana and Max as Emmy-nominated actors (for GOT). I don't think we'll see any new additions to that list except maybe Sophie in s8.
As for Kit and Emilia, I don't know if it's a good or bad idea to push them in lead, but unless they get like super dramatic death scenes or some equally cataclysmic material, they're not winning next year, and even a nomination is a question mark.
I think Diana Rigg will be Season 7's only win in the major categories. Lena will probably lose to Thandie Newton or Ann Dowd, and that's ok because this was not one of her best seasons (she was great, but not season 5-season 6 level great imo). Everything is set for her to hopefully win next year.

I think there is a chance that Kit and Emilia get nomination next year. They won't win, but I think nomination is possible.

Next year, Maslany, Russell and Foy will be out as this is their last seasons. So Emilia will have a good shot. On the male side Rhys is out next season and considering how This Is Us failed to get Moore or writing this season and even dropped in total nods I don't know how the Brown/Ventimiglia double nods is sustainable. Plus the majority of snubs articles have Kit and Emilia in them as prime examples, starting a narrative for next season.

Bit of OT: Anyone here read The Handmaid's Tale and watched the show? I didn't know the show was THAT popular? Hulu isn't available in Germany, it was picked up by expensive pay TV, so maybe that's why few talk about it here. Read the book in high school, just started watching the show and holy moly it is good. Bleak AF, but incredibly well done. I suggest not binge watching the show, it does leave a depressing and disturbing mood in the air after a few hours. Thanks for the heads up, I read the book in two days and I definitely had the feeling I needed time to digest it all. Even more if you're a woman I suppose.

And poignant with parents having their kids forcibly taken from them and caged, not mention the right to choose being in peril.

Westworld won't start filming season 3 until next year, which means that they will not be eligible for next years Emmys. So Wood, Harris and Wright are also out. Plus that means that HBO will focus totally on GoT on its final season.

Hulu isn't available in Germany, it was picked up by expensive pay TV, so maybe that's why few talk about it here. it's critically beloved, i have no idea how mainstream popular it is. i've read two other atwood books and they were depressing enough that i have no desire to experience the grimmest of them all when the real world gets bleaker by the day. it's so wild to me that rory gilmore won an emmy already and now has another nod. good for her, learning to act. (i mean that sincerely.) then i remember she's married to pete campbell from mad men. and that she and elisabeth moss both played characters on mad men who had affairs with pete and then ended up in a psych ward after the affairs ended. sorry, this doesn't really answer your question but those are my thoughts on this show.

I’m halfway through the second season and it’s alright. But I would recommend watching the first season at least.
