Currently reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Nice! How many times have you read it? Too many to count. Honestly I've never stopped reading Harry Potter, ever since I was a child. I keep coming back to it at least, at least, two or three times a year.

I'm halfway through The Dragon's Path by Daniel Abraham, its quite good. I think I will join the challenge, but my reading varies. If I really love a book I can demolish a book in a few days, if a like a book, might take a few weeks. Think I read all the ASOIAF books in a month when I first read them hehe. I will go for 2.5 books. The Dragon's Path by Daniel Abraham The King's Blood by Daniel Abraham Golden Age by James Maxwell Any of you guys write? Awesome! I think I'm going to have to lower my goal to 2.5 as well. I didn't realize How much project I was going to get at work. Oh well. I do write, essays mostly. I'm trying to work on this story so I'm hoping to do NaNoWriMo this year. What kind of essays do you write? I am currently writing a fantasy novel, only 4 chapters in though hehe. Currently reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Maybe I am too used to ASOIAF, but I was disappointed that Harry Potter did not stay dead in the end. Would have been poeticI think. And don't get me started on that last chapter at the station, ugh. JK Rowling totally woosed out.

And don't get me started on that last chapter at the station, ugh. JK Rowling totally woosed out I didn't mind that at all. Harry never died, Voldemort couldn't kill him, because Lily's protection was still active. All of it was Voldemort's own failure and miscalculation. It was the only way to destroy the horcrux inside Harry without killing him, Dumbledore knew that, and the entire story has been steering towards that moment pretty much since Book 4. Killing Harry for the sake of killing him, without making some kind of point or progressing the story in any meaningful way, would have been pretty cheap, uncreative and unsatisfying. I'm glad she didn't go there. Also, it would have undermined one of the main themes of that book, accepting death and stuff. Harry accepted his death and was rewarded for it, Voldemort did not, and he died as the coward and idiot he always was. I also really love the epilogue.

I had this book I was trying to finish from last month and I just wasn't feeling it so I put it down and picked up The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchinson. It's a very engrossing book, I think I should be done reading it by tomorrow so it should keep me on track to read two and a half books.

The month is half-way over, but I will jump in! I finally got around to buying Harper Lee's Go Set A Watchman since it came out in paperback and I refused to pay that much for a hardcover (even though I wanted it). I re-read To Kill a Mocking Bird, ASOS, and I am on AFFC while still going through Go Set A Watchman. I won't finish AFFC this month, but I will be done with my third book soon If anyone hasn't read it, I don't want to spoil it so let me know

I'm cheating and reading a shortish Star Wars story as my second book but I'm going on vacation next week, so I'm going to at least read Lords of the North and try to start Outlander.

I already read two books. And I'm reading a crime novel right now. Besides that, I picked up AGoT on my ebook reader once again.

lordcarson, Ah! You just reminded me about Outlander! I started it awhile back and forgot all about it. I will have to add that to the list.

Finished the Butterfly Garden and it was excellent. It's a very tough subject (serial killer, kidnapping, rape, murder) but it's told in a way that you are completely engaged in the story and invested in the main character. I would highly recommend it. I just started Six of Crow.
