Nice video, though the premise that characters are what holds everything together is interesting. Especially in comparison to Game of Thrones: think of just how many characters, large and small, were already compelling and fully drawn by episode 5 of GoT. It's a massive list. With Westworld I would say there are 4 or 5 really interesting characters that I already understand to a large degree, but most of the rest are either deliberately enigmatic or really only presented as ciphers for the moment.
The potential is great for this show and there are a whole host (sorry not sorry) of characters who could become incredibly complex, but so far it's a big mystery box that I'm finding hard to totally emotionally engage in. Would be interesting to hear from people who already love the show for its characters, and why.

What was the whole thing with Felix resurrecting the dead bird supposed to mean? This was cool, I thought. Having said we don't know shit about most of the humans, I think I found out more about that Felix bloke in this one episode than many of the others throughout the season. I think it shows the potential beauty in this whole process. We've mostly seen it as this huge corporate machine, especially behind the scenes where everything is very stark and factory-like, but here's this guy who been working on getting a little dead bird to flutter back to life. It suggests both the appeal, and the possible hubris, to the whole thing in a microcosm. I see what you are saying, but my question was not so much as looking at this from any sort of greatness or beauty achieved as that somehow makes it more awful. Are they truly robots or are they humans that are being resurrected every night? While it sounds beautiful can you imagine how horrible the actual experience is? The poor little bird that flutters back to life is dying over and over. Uggh. I don't want to die over and over especially if my death is painful. I just want to go.

Djawadi's score was great tonight. Especially the piece during Maeve's tour.

Funny that it's Thandie's birthday today. Because she was in her birthday suit for most of the episode.

I love this show! While I remember seeing the original movie with Yul Brenner, it wasn't that great, but the original story is awesome.
I like the updated touches, and the 3-D printed characters are amazing. Even the score is perfect. My primary question is this: given that Delores, Teddy, the MiB, William, etc. are all headed toward the same destination, are they running Ford's story line while Maeve, little Robert, and Bernard (using Delores as his spy) are working for Arnold?
It's getting harder to tell who's following whose agenda.

Djawadi's score was great tonight. Especially the piece during Maeve's tour. Only just seen the episode but I came to post about that. I'm almost certain it was a cover of Motion Picture Soundtrack by Radiohead. That scene was the best part of the whole series so far.

Hi breakfest , I love Radiohead, so I will check that out. I think you're probably right though, the piano piece that played us into the episode was a version of Radiohead's 'Fake Plastic Trees'. I thought that also worked really well. Here's that single if anyone fancies comparing the two.....
Having YouTubed it, here is a neat comparison.

Bernard is a host. Though looking back at how he interacted with Dolores, it makes sense he's doing it for Ford's best interests.

So.. Do you think Ford is re-building Theresa as a host? There was one in the making after all.
I have to say, that moment when Bernard asked "What door?" was one my favorites in this show, a clever way to start revealing his true identity.
