I don't do sports myself really but I'm good at watching it on TV! Soccer, athletics, hockey, tennis, cycling, volleyball, skiing, biathlon.. I watch a lot of sports I finally have a fellow hockey fan! Even our Canadian doesn't like hockey. I've had nobody to discuss my favorite sport with.

My favourite sport is F1 (I'm a mod on the largest F1 forum in the world)and I just am struggling with it right now. I'm British, however I don't support any of the British drivers, I support Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen. I think this season is turning into the worst season ever. I can't stand Lewis Hamilton. The British media make it worse. I've got a feeling this is going to be their most successful season. On trying out sports, I did try karting at the Michael Schumacher track in Kerpen back in 2013. A 10 minutes session put my neck out for 2 days.

Remember when won first GP? I think it was Hungary and he said how he is going to be a champion some day and I laughed it off. I ended up rooting for him three years later (which is really rare because I always root for someone in Ferrari). I like Kimi and Max now. Louis... he is a great driver and all, but I never liked him, similar is with Vettel.

What great opinions you have I like Button very much, he seems like a nice guy. Alonso is a horrible crybaby.

It was impossible not to like Hamilton when he was starting out. Young British guy, really aggressive and exciting driving style, first black F1 driver. Shame he's turned into your archetypal aloof sporting celebrity with all its trappings. Can't help but want him to win despite it.

Being a Ferrari fan it was instinctive to not want Lewis to win.
I did try to like him. But I couldn't get past the Mclaren colours. Then he made it worse and moved to Mercedes. If I couldn't support Michael at Mercedes then it wasn't going to help with Lewis.
Last year my other half and his brother went to the Race of Champions at Wembley and he wanted to get Seb to sign his half size helmet. They were in the cheap seats. He kept climbing down rows and eventually managed to go unnoticed into the tunnel. My other half and his brother managed to find their way into the drivers dressing room, it was empty until just Seb walked in. Seb had just won the individual trophy and was slightly tipsy. They were hi fiving him and saying Michael would be proud of him. Seb chatted, signed everything and didn't even call security.
I can't wait to go to another race. I'm hoping that I'll be able to do either Spa, Hungary, Monza or Austria in 2017. I don't like Silverstone. I've already done Spa 3 times. I also did winter testing in Barcelona in 2011. That is really well worth going to.

Anyone here going to watch the Olympics? Most likely not, even though it's in my own country. It's gonna be a total shitshow. The World Cup worked out fine because it was spread evenly across the entire country, but these Olympic Games are mostly in Rio, which is a hellhole to some extent, and the state of Rio the Janeiro is completely broke too.

I was in Rio a couple of years ago, and although I had a lovely time there, I found the city to be very dirty and the favelas were insane. I remember being at the beach and you could see the film of pollution in between the water and the sky. It's too bad because it really is an amazing city, naturally speaking with it's mountains, lakes and beach.

Yeah, I spent a week there in Nov. 2014 and I thought the same thing, though I thought the favelas were easily avoidable. I had a great time as there's plenty of stuff to do and lots of fun places, but the city was really dirty, even Copacabana beach. Ipanema beach was pretty decent and clean, though, but for some reason Copacabana is more famous and attracts more tourists, even though it's utter shite. I also have to say that I absolutely loathe their horrible accent, so talking to people there was torture for my ears

Completely agree with you about the beaches we spent the day in Ipanema and it was lovely (other than the visible pollution). We walked pass Copacabana and thought it looked gross, couldn't understand what the fuss was about.

Anyone here going to watch the Olympics? I'll probably watch since it won't all be on at fuck o'clock in the morning this time, but I like the Winter Olympics better. Especially since the IOC ruined golf and baseball and softball won't be back in it for another four years. I'll watch basketball and gymnastics because Aly Raisman is from Needham but everything else will just be on casually in the background.
