I was actually a bit shocked when The Mountain spoke I'd forgotten he used to do that. Tyrion and Jaime, gods I hope they get to meet and make up again, they had the best conversations. I suppose it could be a little awkward when they first meet but surely they can get over the small detail of Tyrion killing their father. One of my absolute favorite scenes in this whole season is Oberyn telling Tyrion he will be his champion, they both do such a good job and it's so emotional because suddenly Tyrion has a small bit of hope! Their whole conversation is brilliant. The Hound and Arya were good to watch, as always. I hope they also meet up again. I'm all about re-unions, I see And talking about re-unions.. Are we really not going to see Daario again? The number one fuckboy in all of Mereen I'd totally forgotten that Hot pie called WF WinterHell Brienne and Pod are a great duo, they say so much with just looks and facial expressions. They have great chemistry on screen. Sansa's snowcastle is a silly scene, it's beautiful that she's building it and she had me in tears when she said she'll probably never go home again but then she throws a fit when Robin breaks it a little and Robin throws a fit when Sansa blames him. I feel like LF, I feel like saying "Children, children.." And then comes the creepy kiss, of course All in all it's a good episode.

And here we are with the scene with Arya, the Hound and the dying old feller. D and D both studied Irish literature and it turns out it was David that studied Beckett and D.B. that studied Joyce which, reading upon, shifts my respect for the two gentleman significantly. Given that I respect Joyce WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more and I'd previously valued D.B. below David...things are now in flux.
Anyhow, I'm glad to know that David could write such a Beckett-y scene and then put Barry McGovern in it, knowing that he'd best handle that kind of writing. That the two fellers can honour their education while still writing populstic fare greatly gladdens me given what they studied and what they now write. I'm glad they can reconcile it all soundly.

This ep. truly supports the Dutch people at their genetic best. Cutting from a shot of Husiman's bum to Carice in the tub. It is clear here that the Dutch are a greater people than most others, aesthetically and in their general character.

I wrote down a few notes for the episode. Like I mentioned in the rating thread my favorite scene is the one between Tyrion and Oberyn where Oberyn offers to be Tyrion's champion both the conversation and their expressions throughout were perfect.
* Bronn's conversation with Tyrion is a good one. I like how he foreshadows Oberyn's eventual downfall when he tells Tyrion that he might be able to tire the Mountain down but one misstep and it'll all be over. Which it was. Also, love that Bronn was kept true to character and Tyrion could respect that. * I got the impression that Mel already knew she would be sacrificing Shireen. In which case, fuck Mel. * I had forgotten that they mentioned that Jorah fought for the Golden Company, I don't think that's true in the books, however. * So, it's nice that they show that Dany can be persuaded by her advisors to take a different course of action but they way they've shown it is always sloppy. It's like one minute she's all death to the Master then the next she's like, well, let's just scare them. They did the same thing with her and Tyrion last season.

But since she knew it would happen...that means it was always going to happened and in a sense had already happened...so in her long view it wasn't something she did as it was something she thought was inevitable. Which I guess could just be a means of distancing herself from moral responsibility. But then she's above morals. She's a goddess.

Pretty good episode, lovd Tyrion and Bronn's conversation. Jon returns from Crasters to a warm welcome from Ser Alliser . Arya and the Hound were great as usual, and The Viper's gonna get "justice" for his sister. I also thought the same about Mel in this episode, she knew she needed to sacrifice her.
