I have not continued watching it (I still plan to, though). But I just wanna say that ever since I watched 15 Million Merits, I can't help but feel even more disgust and dread when I happen to stumble upon a talent show on TV. Watching that episode really affected me. I didn't like it but I will never forget it. Maybe I'm just too sensitive for this show. (I know, says the guy with the Pennywise avatar, but for some reason the tone of this show affects me more than any horror movie could) Especially with @igrewupinkl's current signature.

Huh. I'm pretty sure I made more than just one post about Black Mirror. Anyway, I've seen San Junipero at least four times by now, that's how much I loved that episode. I also convinced my brother to watch it, and he loved it too. That one is one of my favorites, but I wasn't into it at first because it didn't *feel* like Black Mirror. I kept waiting for more explicit tech. But then as it kept going, I kept falling in love with it more and eventually cried like a baby.

Kinda suprised you guys didn't like The Entire History of You more. Man, that one hit me right in the feels. Toby Kebbell was amazing. Then again, I don't rank Be Right Back as highly. Idk why tbh. I really like Domhall Gleeson too. I just don't remember being blown away by that one.

I like that there is a Game of Thrones cast member in like half of the episodes.

I probably should have put it before Fifteen Million Merits and Playtest, to be honest. Be Right Back made me cry.

I bawled during Be Right Back. Like, the entire thing. Constant flow of tears.

San Junipero 15 Million Merits The Entire History of You White Christmas Nosedive Playtest White Bear Shut Up and Dance Be Right Back The National Anthem Men Against Fire Hated in the Nation The Waldo Moment

So I watched The Entire History of You and Be Right Back today. I enjoyed The Entire History of You (much more than the first two episodes anyway), but Be Right Back was the first excellent Black Mirror episode for me. The mixture between grief and creepiness was perfectly done. Hayley Atwell did a wonderful job and pretty much carried the entire episode effortlessly. Domhnall Gleeson was also brilliant. I loved how this episode was able to illustrate the dangers and intricacies of technological progress without going for yet another typical Black Mirror episode about "people/society being shitty and this is why". Instead they explored the mindset of a woman grieving for her husband while clutching at a dubious technology just to be able to bear the pain. This worked a lot better for me, because it still felt grounded in reality despite its science-fiction-y plot elements. There are no over-the-top cartoonish characters here, just a woman grieving for her husband. I loved it.

I think a big part of why BRB worked for me and was so sad and terrifying is that I could see myself being as desperate as Hayley's character was in wanting to speak with her husband again.
