I'm going to try one more time to get this section going. We have a bunch of readers here, we can do this. Pick a number and let us know how many books you'll be reading in April.
I'm going to attempt to read 3. Let's see if I can manage that.

I'm already at 10 for the year, so I only need to do 2 in April but I'll probably end up with 3. Thrawn comes out in a few weeks so I'll definitely be reading that, plus I have Shogun and Fires of Heaven on my shelf. And like 4 preview books and a few e-books I got on discounts.

Sweet! Let's see if we can accomplish our goals. I'm already at 10 for the year, so I only need to do 2 in April but I'll probably end up with 3. How many books do you want to read for the year?

I'll go for at least two books for April. There's a third that I'm only reading part of each month, for an in-depth focus with a Joseph Campbell book group - The Power of Myth is the one we're on now. The other (2) books will definitely on the "more fun, less serious" side.

I read Treasure Island again. It's one of those books you read as a kid that you don't really think to go back to, but it's surprisingly adult.
Also crazy how many of our pirate stereotypes come directly from this one book, though it's steeped in oral tradition. Really worth rediscovering.

How many books do you want to read for the year? 30 is my goal. I saved up half of the Saxon stories books so that's five more, then there are at least three Star Wars books coming, and then I'll have to get a couple more Wheel of Time ones. I've also just started reading Treasure Island since Black Sails is ending tomorrow. It's a very different experience with that backstory in mind.

Also crazy how many of our pirate stereotypes come directly from this one book, though it's steeped in oral tradition. Really worth rediscovering. I have ever read Treasure Island, I know the story of course but I've never read it. Sweet! Let's see if we can accomplish our goals. That's a nice goal for the year, not too demanding. I think I've read four books this year, it's so bad but it's hard for me to concentrate and read with ADHD. Makes me sad because I was an avid reader when I was younger.

For the same reason too. Although, not to disappoint you, but I haven't been so big on Black Sails this season. Felt like it fell into the same traps again. Will probably post more in the other thread when I've watched the finale. The penultimate episode was fantastic tbf.

Just started reading "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms": The Hedge Knight. I just love how much sass Egg has. Also, Baelor

I'll say 2 for April, too, because I'm in a deep reading slump. I just can't make myself concentrate on something for long lately (read or write or even watch series). Normally I can easily read 4-5 medium-length books a month, and that's not counting the fanfiction.

I know how you feel, I use to be an avid reader but it's been years sense I've been able to read that way. It sucks but I guess it's the new normal for me. Good luck finishing your two books.

Because I read all three Dunk and Egg books I fulfilled my April challenge. Yay me! I am reading another book now, though I don't know I'll finish before April. It's a busy week.
