7 out of 10
I dislike it as much if not a little more than "Sons of the Harpy" last time. The dinner scene in Winterfell is the most uncomfortable gathering in history.
Ramsey, "Reek! You will give away the bride! Someone has to." Roose, "Yes, yes..very good."
Stannis leaving the wall, bound for glory, Winterfell or bust.
Bonus points for the scene with Stannis and Sam. "Keep reading, Samwell Tarly."
AH, Valyria

9/10, some great character progression, and I thought the story moved along nicely.

I decided to go back to see what I gave this episode when I watched it during S5 and it was a 10 (lol) Now, I'd give it a 7. I still liked the scenes with Stannis and the Night's Watch, and Sansa's scenes at Winterfell, but Meereen really dragged for me this time around. Jorah and Tyrion's scenes were just okay. I wrote back then that I was bitter that Missandei and Grey Worm are given time when they couldn't give us Lady Stoneheart, and yep, still bitter about that one.

I never understood connection between LSH and Grey Worm. LOL There's no connection between the characters literally. The comparison is that D&D took the time to imagine a romance between two characters that were not romantically involved in the novels instead of bringing in Lady Stoneheart, who was in the novels. Fan fic vs adaptation.

Or maybe they took the time to imagine Hardhome instead of bringing in Lady Stoneheart.

Who really knows what happened, but I'd be curious to hear an answer from D&D about why they left her out when the series is done.
As for Missandei and Grey Worm's expansion, I think it was to give a more human side to Dany's advisors instead of just standing around.

I think GRRM just doesn't know what he will do with LSH and D&D didn't want to include something like that in their version of the story.
We know that he didn't tell them anything about the Hound.

10. Great debut from Podeswa, especially his work in Winterfell and the Stone Men sequence. Very atmospheric stuff. I also liked the episode's focus on only a few locations giving us longer chunks of time in each of them, which helped a lot, particularly in Winterfell where we got time to see the impact of Sansa and Theon's reunion on each of them and also some great character moments and dark humour from Roose and Ramsay. I gave it a ten then, I still give it one now.

It's possible GRRM just doesn't know what Stoneheart's endgame is. Sounds unbelievable but I wouldn't be surprised.

They probably didn't include Stoneheart, because they knew that they would have to bring back Jon and they didn't want to have too many resurrections on the show. And they probably didn't care for Catelyn as a character all that much, considering how little they gave her to do past S1 and how she was constantly treated like a secondary character.

I rated it a 10. It's one of my favorite episodes. *getting to see Valyria (!) *the dinner table scene at WF (love Fat Walda) *getting the M. Aemon "Kill the boy . . . " speech *getting M. Aemon's "A Targaryen alone in the world . . . " line *Tyrion's 'conversation' with Jorah

9/10
Winterfell dinner scene! Dragon scene! Ruins of Valyria!!!!!!
As for the Stoneheart thing, we all know how bitter I am about no Stoneheart, but whatever. MissWorm has taken up a whopping 10 minutes of screentime in the whole series. LSH would need tooons of more time to be done correctly. I don't find that to be a fair comparison.
