The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has said Get Out will compete in the comedy category at this year's Golden Globes. It belongs there, IMO. The Best Musical or Comedy category is kind of hot this year.
My guesses -
LOCKS Get Out - No Way it doesn't make it there Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri - assuming it competes in this category, which I think it will Lady Bird
LIKELY The Disaster Artist - This might be too "cult" for HFPA but Franco is already getting rave reviews Downsizing - depending on how reviews go, Payne's new film could go there. I,Tonya - Assuming this also competes for comedy
Dark horse Baby Driver - Before Kevin Spacey, I'd say this was a lock, now I'm not so sure The Big Sick - This was lovely and really popular and it would be nice to see it compete The Greatest Showman - This is the big musical of the year, but it doesn't look very promising, but that's never stopped HFPA before.

The nominations are announced next week, right?
Should be interesting, especially as there might be more than one female director who could be on the mix, Lady Bird”s Greta Gerwig and Mudbound”s Dee Rees. Greta probably has the better chance.

NBR, NYFCC and LAFCA have already voted their awards and they really spread the wealth. Of the Big 4, only NSFC remains to vote which they do in early January.
Movie: The Post (NBR); Lady Bird (NYFCC); Call Me By Your Name (LAFCA) A mainstream Oscar bait directed by Spielberg and starring Hanks and Streep and two critical acclaimed indies directed by a new voice (Gerwig) and a overdue European veteran director (Guadagnino) starring two of the most raved performances of the year (Ronan and Chalamet).
Director: Greta Gerwig, Lady Bird (NBR); Sean Baker, The Florida Project (NYFCC); Guillermo del Toro, The Shape of Water (LAFCA tie); Luca Guadagnino, Call Me By Your Name (LAFCA tie) Two indie darlings with their breakthrough films and two foreign overdue veterans with critical acclaimed movies.
Lead Actor: Tom Hanks, The Post (NBR); Timothée Chalamet, Call Me By Your Name (NYFCC, LAFCA) A two-time Oscar-winner veteran who hasn't been nominated in 15 years despite having movies in contention (Captain Phillips, Bridge of Spies) and a young indie darling with one of the most raved performance of the year who, if nominated, will be one of the youngest male nominees ever. Of note the fact that despite losing NBR Best Actor to Hanks, Chalamet received the NBR Breakthrough Award.
Lead Actress: Meryl Streep, The Post (NBR); Saoirse Ronan, Lady Bird (NYFCC); Sally Hawkins, The Shape of Water (LAFCA) As always Lead Actress is a bloodbath. We have THE VETERAN who, despite the record of 21 nominations, may have her first Best Picture nominated movie in over 30 years, a former child actress who finally put her career back on track two years ago and a under-rewarded veteran who may be victim of one of the worst snubs ever.
Supporting Actor: Willem Dafoe, The Florida Project (NBR, NYFCC, LAFCA) A under-rewarded veteran who is finally getting his due and if he wins NSFC will join a rarefied group of performers who have won the Big 4 for a single performance, specially as a male performer.
Supporting Actress: Laurie Metcalf, Lady Bird (NBR, LAFCA); Tiffany Haddish, Girls Trip (NYFCC) A rewarded TV and stage veteran who is finally getting her cinematic due and a breakthrough black actress in one of the best comedies of the year.
Screenplay: Phantom Thread (Original-NBR, NYFCC); The Disaster Artist (Adapted-NBR); Get Out (LAFCA) An acclaimed veteran, a Hollywood 'enfant terrible' with a breakthrough comedy and a black director/writer with his critical acclaimed, zeitgeisty, commercially successful, critique on racial relations.
Animated Feature: Coco (NBR, NYFCC); The Breadwinner (LAFCA) Two films focusing in foreign cultures (Mexican and Afghani) with diverse casts, one mainstream, the other independent.
Documentary: Jane (NBR); Faces Places (NYFCC, LAFCA) A film about Dame Jane Goodall and her work in Africa and a film following legendary filmmaker Agnès Varda and artist JR through France.
Foreign Language Movie: Foxtrot (NBR); BPM (Beats per Minute) (NYFCC, LAFCA tie); Loveless (LAFCA tie) An Israeli movie about a couple and the loss of their soldier son in the line of duty, a French movie dealing with the AIDS epidemic in the 1990's and a Russian movie about a divorced couple dealing with their son's disappearance.

I need to watch these movies, cause I haven't watched any of them. Although, to be honest, The Post doesn't look interesting to me. The other ones do. I would also like to watch the documentaries.

Woody Allen's name being completely left off of the Wonder Wheel screeners. He's probably happy about it considering his complete disregard for awards and such.

The Globes are this Sunday! I have this feeling that The Post is going to win Best Drama. Not a popular pick right now but I don't know. Something about the HFPA here...

Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke will be presenters at Sunday’s Golden Globes: That's nice. It's a long time between season so they probably what to keep the show on the news. We'll probably see something in the spring as well. Promotion for the final season will probably start this fall/winter.

The globes are usually a bit more adventurous (due to the hfpa's capacity to be bought, primarily) so I wouldn't bet on it.

Follow-up from this post. National Society of Film Critics had their voting today and these are the winners: Lady Bird wins Picture and Greta Gerwig wins Director. Daniel Kaluuya wins Lead Actor blocking Timothée Chalamet from winning the Critics' Trifecta. Sally Hawkins wins Lead Actress and Laurie Metcalf wins Supporting Actress. Willem Dafoe wins Supporting Actor becoming 12th man and 24th performer to win the Big 4. He also became only the 4th man to win the 4 awards for a single performance, 13th overall performer, an amazing feat. Screenplay went to Lady Bird, Foreign Language Film went to Graduation and Documentary went to Faces Places winning it the Critics' Trifecta. I'm also going to do a post about the Guilds.
