Nic, I think you missed Spider-Man 3 and Transformers on your 2007 list. But seriously, you know which 2007 movies I'm missing? Atonement, Sunshine and Ratatouille. Three movies that I enjoyed a lot.

I fucking hate Atonement with the wrath of 10,000 volcanoes. My friend forced me to read the book before we saw the movie an it was torture, it's a miracle we are still friends. It really was the character of Briony that really rubbed me the wrong way. On the other hand I completely agree with you on Ratatouille, it was a wonderful movie (underrated Disney film) and should have been included on the list.

Like I said guys, feel free to mention stuff I missed. I actually still need to see Sunshine (and Atonement), I usually like Danny Boyle's movies.

1999 has my all time favorite movie (American Beauty) but I went with 2007 just based on quality overall.

2007 is fantastic across the board. There's also The Bourne Ultimatum, which is the best of that trilogy; I'm Not There, which is pretty underrated for me.
Heard great things about The Mist, though I've not seen it.

Not even a contest. Seen most of the movies on the lists and 1999 is way ahead. From 2007 the only one I liked was Hot Fuzz.
America Beauty and the Talented Mr Ripley are two of the best films ever made. Toy Story 2, & Notting Hill others from 1999 I like. More lowbrow but still worth a rewatch. The only real crime that year was JarJar Binks!

1999 and this was such an easy choice. I out and out love more than half of the movies on Nic's list. I can't say the same for 2007.

The Boondock Saints is the reason 99 doesn't do it for me. I'm kidding. But not really.

The Boondock Saints is the reason 99 doesn't do it for me. I'm kidding. But not really. Well, I know you don't like it, but A LOT of people do, hence it's place on a notable films list.
