Davos keeps asking Missandei about Naath as if he either genuinely curious about Naath or flirting with her or he suspects there is something off about her. Foreshadowing that Missandei is one of the betrayal that Dany will suffer? It makes sense. Someone did tip off Euron about the Iron Fleet heading for Dorne. Maybe the show is trying to throw us off by focusing on Varys as a possible turncoat. Davos is just into her. Don't over think it.

For me it is less flirting, more like this type of dad who desperately want to make friends with his kids colleagues, cause he still feel/want to feel young

This is reminding me that Davos hasn't seen his wife in years. Not since before their son's death.

Did the show forget that Davos has a wife? I mean, Liam certainly had forgotten when he was asked about it in an interview.
I was hoping for Randyll (or Dickon) to mention Heartsbane, but I guess it's too much of a an embarassment for your ancestral Valyrian steel sword to get stolen. But then again, they could've made Jaime ask about it. Honestly this Heartsbane plot is bothering me.

Yeah I'm not really getting any vibes of anything ominous or clues in this one. I think they just wanted to give Davos some witty humor in those scenes since he doesn't really get a lot of lines interacting with Jon and Dany (they are focused on one another) at Dragonstone so they paired him off with Missandei. I think he has a little bit of an old man crush on her but I wouldn't take it seriously. It's like when you're a middle aged parent and your adult college kid brings home friends and you tease them. He mentioned 'switching sides' and how 'liberating' Naath must be having no marriage customs. Maybe he's regretting his own marriage and that's why he never goes home to see his wife? Maybe she's a horrible hag, lol.

You'd think Davos' wife would've been around Dragonstone anyways, but nope. I guess we're supposed to forget he has one.

It got stolen and he knows who did it. Maybe he has the intention of getting it back at some point but with the Tyrells being decimated and Olenna declaring for House Targaryen and Cersei asking for his allegiance, Randyll definitely has more pressing matters for the moment...? I don't see why this is a big deal at all.

Re: Davos. It's not like his character had a lot of characterisation anyway...? What has his own individual storyline been this season? What are his conflicts? Let's be real, he barely has a storyline of his own. He is mostly just Jon's badass and funny sidekick. So they can get away with not broaching the issue of his personal life. Because it's just not relevant to the main story. Whatever is happening between him and his wife is something that was resolved in the off-screen, because the writers treat Davos more like a supporting character. Davos serves the plot. The plot, however, doesn't serve Davos. His storyline has always been a bit like that, even in the books, where - for the most part - he was just our window into Stannis's and Melisandre's world. This became even more apparent on the show when they didn't have the resources to give Davos a bigger storyline of his own and thus had to embed him in Stannis's and then Jon's.

I don't see why this is a big deal at all. I think it could be seen as a loose end for the sword and who will end up wielding it so people are hoping or expecting some mention of it will be brought into play with Lord Tarly wanting his family heirloom sword back. The fact Samwell took it when he left does probably mean the sword has significance to the endgame and fighting White Walkers but probably not to Randyll Tarly himself right now. He knows where the sword went and with who so I guess there's no reason for him to bring it up to Jaime as there's no connection between the Lannisters and Sam (I doubt Randyll knows Sam is supporting Jon Snow).

you fuckin know what? i think this episode being a little shorter actually makes it better. no time is wasted and it adds to its rewatchability

I think the episode being perceived as too short is mostly just psychological. I mean imagine if they had included a slow 6 minute Oldtown scene. No one would have said anything about the runtime, but would that extra scene have made the episode better? I don't think so.
