Which episode will be the big one I wonder in a shortened season? Will it still be the penultimate episode? Or perhaps the finale? Do we know if it's actually two separate seasons, or a part 1&2 type deal? Nothing official, I think, but they will go for a Season 7 Part I and Part II, IMHO. It will make easier the negotiations with the cast. Actually, the cast members have already negotiated and signed their contracts for "Seasons 7 and 8". Morever, D&D spoke about "two more seasons" in an interview. So it's S7 and S8 IMHO. Is that so? I didn't know it. Thank you for clarifying.

They better bring Neil Marshall back for STORMBOWL. Can't have that shit directed by fucking Mylod... Mylod could just get the premiere. Podeswa gets 702 and 703 Shakman gets 704 and 705 Taylor gets 706 and 707 I think it's more likely that whoever does the "big episode" will only do that...

I could see this:
Podeswa 701 and 702 (he directed the first two last season too). Mylod 703 and 704 (he's not that bad, just DON'T give him any big action scene). Taylor 705 (big action scene). Shakman 706 and 707.

The Mylod hate is baffling to me, honestly. The writing of the Arya stuff was the problem, not the direction. The McShane story in particular was wonderfully done.
Shakman did the last two episodes from Season 1 of Fargo, so no doubt he's a more than safe pair of hands.

I think Mylod is absolutely solid. All the issues I had with his episodes had more to do with the writing as Breakfest said. I'm more worried about Podeswa tbh. He has had great episodes like 5x05 or 6x02, but his action scenes were a bit messy IMHO. You guys remember the ridiculous "action" scene in Dorne from 5x06? Or even the messy "Brienne rescues Sansa"-scene in 6x01 with the disappearing hounds?

From Sansa and Theon running into the woods to Sansa accepting Brienne into her service, it was really good thanks to Podeswa.

I liked how it started and I LOVED how it ended with Sansa accepting Brienne into her service. I'm just a bit nitpicky in regards to the middle part. Too many fast cuts and close-ups IMHO, and as I said, the disappearing hounds.

Though I think "Home" was still a really good episode. As I said when we discussing that episode, I was pleasantly surprised by how much Hill's writing improved.

Shakman has done a ton of Sunny episodes, but most notably he did "Charlie Work" which was an incredible Birdman-esque single shot style episode. He should be a great fit. Also some great work on Fargo.

The Mylod hate is baffling to me, honestly. The writing of the Arya stuff was the problem, not the direction. Though I'm pretty sure the ASOAIF redditors that are so pissed at him, barely understand the difference between writing, directing and producing television. They seem to use the terms interchangeably. I like Mylod quite a bit, in particular ep. 503. So because of that and to spite those ASOIAF redditors, I'm glad he's coming back.
