Dany - her lips may say good-bye but her eyes beg for him to stay.
Jon - Kit has really upped his performance this year and I can't wait for next week's hunt!
Jamie - realizing there is no way they can defeat the Dothraki and three dragons.
Tyrion - seeing first hand what war really looks like.
Drogon - Thank you for not eating the KitN. We deeply appreciate the restraint.

Nikolaj, Peter, Lena, Emilia, Joe, and Liam Joe Dempsie - HE IS READY TO GO! His hype in every scene, I swear he must have drunk a ton of red bulls before getting on set, but it was probably just his excitement to be back on the show as you guys said.

Drogon - Thank you for not eating the KitN. We deeply appreciate the restraint. Pretty sure Jon Snow was thinking exactly the same thing immediately after that. Remember when Tyrion had his moment with Rhaegal and Viserion and petted them and thanked them for not eating the help? That's immediately what I thought of when you said that.

You know I think Joe was going for it's about damn time. when we first met Gendry he was not all that eager about anything. He was in his safe little world. He went out and he had an adventure, then back to safe world working for people he didn't want to work for, and processing everything he learned. So it's different energy for each scene really. When Davos comes to him it's oh thank god let's get the fuck out here. He doesn't care where he is going, but he knows he can trust this guy. So it's kind yeah I don't care let's go, this world is getting interesting and I want out, I want adventure, I am ready to go. In this world you know the Mother of dragons is back, the Starks are back.He is tired of the shit sandwich he is eating in KL and tired of hiding. He reminds me a lot of young Robert. The adventure part. He clearly learned something about the his dad and he has a little Baratheon pride thing going. He also feels like he is meant for more. Then you get the boat ride and he finds out holly shit an army of the dead and I am going to go fight for Dragon Queen and King Snow, and holly shit. So he listens to Davos but as soon as he says smith, Gendry blurts out what he wants and Gendry has never been affraid to speak his mind, not even to the Hand of the King. And he is going to meet the Great bastard of his fathers best friend and so he is excited about it. So he blurts out exactly who he is. He feels a connection with Jon actually smiles. Cause you know he gets it, this is kind of like Jon going to the Nights watch, he was excited. Except when he got there it was shit. In the case of Gendry it's the Mother of Dragons, Dragons and the white wolf. Imagine if you got pulled out of bed one day and found out this shit was all real and you were on team Jon and Dany. He volunteers to go with Jon. This was more determination than excitement. He wants to prove himself. For him this all started with meeting Ned and shipping off to the Nights watch. Now he ends with Neds great Bastard, shipping off for the Nights watch. The shit racing through his mind. i liked the energy, I thought it was honest and relatable to the fans. Maybe it's me when I was younger I was a lot like that. It was not about the action it was about change, and challenges and testing myself. I would be first in line for the insanity of the Wight Hunt. And my mind would be like yeah don't care let's go. Plus I think he secretly hopes he sees Arya again, and that she is alive. I think that's why he didn't say anything about her, he may not know she is alive. Jon knows but he just found out.

I thought Jon's face in that scene was perfect, from fear to pure amazement. And Dany watching was just, about the only time I have seen her get Butterfly's. I think came through fear, joy and amazement all in one.

1. Lena Headey - She's in charge. Never been as dangerous, or as real. But something changes after she finds out she's pregnant. There's almost a kind of warmth coming from her, mixed with something darker. Lena just keeps on delineating this beauty of an arc.
2. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau - His best episode since 608. I was moved by both his scenes--with Cersei and Tyrion. Jaime has never been more human.
3. James Faulkner - He was so good. There was a nobility to him that wasn't apparent in his Horn Hill scenes. The bit where he urges Dickon to bend the knee is amazing.
4. Sophie Turner - For handling Arya with such self-possession and dignity.
5. Peter Dinklage - Sharing scenes with the Lannisters is improving his acting. This felt like classic Tyrion to me.

Everyone was on point this week. Liam Cunningham was especially great. Joe Dempsie...loved to have him back and it is obvious he loved to be back. Lena was scary good. Iain Glen...what can you say...I just ShowSerJorah and it is because of him. (not so much creepy BookSerJorah) Kit, Emelia and Peter all brought it as well. And Drogon!

James Faulkner - He was so good. There was a nobility to him that wasn't apparent in his Horn Hill scenes. The bit where he urges Dickon to bend the knee is amazing. Completely agree! I hated his character from the beginning and actually was a little sad to see him go - he was so good as Tarly. Emilia as well - the expressions on her face in this episode just spoke volumes, particularly though, when Jon decides to lead the expedition north. SO good.

I like the way TheArchmaester did this, so here is my list: 1. Lena Headey - She really impressed me once again with her non-verbal acting. This episode proves why she is the best actor on the show. 2. Peter Dinklage - This was his best episode since S4. And I'm usually not a huge fan of his acting so this is saying something. 3. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau - It's funny how good material always gives him a chance to shine. 4. Emilia Clarke - She showed a lot of different facets and sides to Dany in this one. She has been constantly great since 703. 5. Sophie Turner - She has been pretty much flawless this season. She hasn't had one bad acting moment this year.
