Well, I certainly feel vindicated after reading this. Well both sides of that big speculation fight had fair points to make. No one was wrong really. It's complicated and different for both, but I do see it now where before I wanted to argue it wouldn't matter. There are certainly others here who need to fess up they've got "shipper goggles" on or whatever it was day dreamer called it, LOL. I'm not ashamed to admit I yearn for a fairytale love story with Jon and Daenerys but I'm also not stupid. I know that's not going to be possible and not just because of their family connection. Even IF they weren't related there's so much else in the way both politically and with the White Walkers coming. How can you have a proper romance in that mess? Them getting it on while sailing north is about the only time they've got to feel good between now and the ending. It's almost worse what Jon and Daenerys have to go through than Rhaegar and Lyanna, who absolutely chose what they did despite knowing it was going to start a war. Jon and Daenerys don't even fucking know (yet) their love is wrong or will cause huge problems. Man, it sucks and yet I fucking love it as much as I've always loved R+L=J. Damn. I'm gutted.

I'm actually really surprised by how well Winterfell worked. Arya being in on the decision made all the difference. Sophie was once again so fucking good. As was Lena. The two MVPs of this episode for me. Anyway, I can't really put into words how much I loved this episode. I'm sounding really "dry" here and that's because I'm completely blown away by what I just saw. I still wish we could've had a scene of the three Starks talking about this prior but it worked so well. Sansa and Arya's conversation at the end was EVERYTHING. I love how much love Ned got in this episode. And for once I actually didn't mind Dr. Branhatton. It worked well with LF and Sam. They still need to tone that shit down though.

So I just finished Inside the Episode and Dan and Dave said about the love-scene montage with Rhaegar/Lyanna and Bran/Sam revealing Jon's true heritage: And this is exactly what makes them an opposite parallel to Rhaegar and Lyanna (complications between their love) ... only they're going to find out AFTER they make the choice to love one another over duty. And that sucks! I really, really hope it doesn't tear them apart. Why tease us with this beautiful love story to rip it apart?

The Cleganebowl confirmation was WAY too on the nose imo I honestly think the two of them just staring each other down would have been enough. That's not in Sandor's nature, glad he said something. That bitch has got a lifetime of payback coming and now Sandor does not have to worry about the Lannisters, cause he is not on their team anymore. Guy jumped into fight the Mountain at a tourney in front of the King before.

Think of how the shippers of approximately every other romantic couple on this show who aren't Jaime and Cersei feel I can't think of a (relevant) pairing where one or both of them haven't died tragically.

I really, really hope it doesn't tear them apart. Why tease us with this beautiful love story to rip it apart? Don't forget, Dan and Dave are masters of the trolling too. They played it off after Jon's death in the Inside-the-episode too... millions of people referred back to it ... "BUT D&D SAID HE IS DEAD AND GONE!!!!!" HAHAHAHAHAAA. I love them.

I never said there wouldn't be conflict, I just think the nature of the conflict will be different than what people expect. But let's keep in mind the "fight" that D&D and Kit and Sophie went on about regarding Sansa and Jon before th season began and at the end of last season.

I was a bit taken aback that we didn't see the Starklings talk about their plan, but since Arya was in on it, it worked really well. And you know, it took Aidan Gillen seven fucking seasons and a death scene to convince me that he is an okayish actor. I thought he was really good in that scene. But Sophie outshone them all. And PREACH! The Sansarya scene gave me life. In honour of that, I need a new avatar with both sisters. Ned is a fookin legend tbh. Even Cersei honoured his memory in this episode. You know why Dr. Branhatton worked? Because they put a little humour into his scenes. That was the right thing to do.

Yeah they referred to 'succession' and 'heirs' enough times in 7x06 to hit us over the head with it. But I can't see how that will play out in Season 8. I'm probably staying in my safe comfy denial hole.
