fingers crossed for Doom of Valyria and Dance of Dragons Too expensive to do all those dragons. well the valyrian freehold was basically just doing their own little game of thrones until they exploded one day, so i don't think dragons need to feature that heavily. just show them in the skyline and the occasional scene of them being used in an action sequence. they could pull that off. now the dance...yeah that would be expensive. but clever writing could help make them not have to be seen in every episode, maybe?

Too expensive to do all those dragons. Perhaps, but maybe not. I know the newly appointed head of HBO said recently he wouldn't be interested in a GoT spin-off at all unless it could match the production values and overall grandeur of GoT itself. So, far we're only committed for the pilot, of course, but I think if HBO decides to go all-in on The Long Night, like they've done with GoT, and it turns into another blockbuster money machine, well then, we might be looking at spending the rest of our lives in one great Westeros universe after another. (Which would be fine with me!)

Its not just the dragons though, nearly every conflict/battle would be insane in terms of production budget. The Battle of the Gullet, for example, would make Blackwater look like the Tourney of the Hand. Don’t get me wrong, i would love a Dance series, but i would rather see it done justice and i just din’t think the budget would be there to enable that. that being said, Helen McRory as Alicent and Eva Green as Rhaenyra because i’m just that obsessed

A friend of mine once told me, "For every loss there is a gain, and for every gain, a loss." Thank you for highlighting the 'gain' and hope!

fingers crossed for Doom of Valyria and Dance of Dragons Same, these are the two I really want to see! the series will show us the origin of some of the great castles, including WInterfell This has me quite interested in the series from the perspective of historical reference to how everything we know of 'modern' Westeros got it's start. Great stuff, keep up the updates!

More production news--giant green screens, cargo containers and perhaps...David Nutter to direct the pilot episode. In the photos, we can see a gigantic wooden structure being constructed. In earlier photos and from a different angle, it looked to me like that construction was meant to be a huge cliff, perhaps with a cave near the base, but it seems odd they'd have to build a cliff and a cave, rather than use what already exists in nature. Perhaps building their own allows them to better control the lighting, camera angles, etc? Who knows! wikiofthrones.com/24853/latest-update-about-the-game-of-thrones-prequel-green-screens-cargo-containers-and-david-nutter/
