Are we ready for this? (The talented Zurik23M put this one out fast, all new editing up to the current episode!) I'm not crying. You're crying!

To quote MaesteressGRRM loves to mirror history. Perhaps Jon and Dany become the monarchs that no longer rule, and Westeros becomes a place with a constitutional monarchy, with a separate ruling body of representatives. They can remain symbols and influence the kingdom, but are no longer involved in legislative activities.....
I like this. Democracy in Westeros is the worst ending imaginable (inserting a modern idea of progress that makes no sense at all for this story) but some big changes are coming, that's for sure. Hopefully exactly what kind of form Westeros will take is left to the viewer's imagination. John Bradley implied that the future of Westeros would be more or less left a mystery.

I have been coming around to the idea of memory. I'm not really a fan but I was thinking about the last episode. These people, these are their final moments at least that's the idea and if they die who will remember them, who will write about Ser Jaime Knighting Brienne of Tarth, or Jon and Dany fighting the NK on dragons, who will sing their songs? Who will sing the song of ice and fire? We know Martin ain't going to do it. I think that's why they had Pod sing, he sings of the pasts, of ghosts from another time. It's a memory, a moment.
I still have a problem with how the Three eyed Raven survived for 8000 years. Or how the NK half assed it. The three eyed Raven is still like the index section of a library that only he has access too. He can see just about anything if he knows what he is looking for. He is just not big on sharing the damn information.

He is just not big on sharing the damn information. To me it worked really well as the entire episode is basically about memory and how it defines these characters. Total oblivion is worse than death... it would be as if none of the events in this story had ever happened, as if these people had never existed. That's what makes the final shot so creepy. An island of memory (Winterfell) surrounded by darkness. I know there will be more to the Night King's story but I really, really like this development.

Full liberal democracy in Westeros doesn't make sense. I always thought it would be somewhere in the middle, with the monarch still having the majority of the power, but an expanded small council that includes the voice of the smallfolk. Which would be mean the lords of Westeros would have to share their power and I doubt that. Or maybe Westeros goes the way of irl Europe and moves from full fledged feudalism to absolute monarchy, to constitutional monarchy (with lots of messy steps in between)

Is Melisandre confirmed for next episode? I forget. We don't know. Some shooting info points in that direction but some of it points to her having a greater role which wouldn't fit with the death sentence Jon and Davos put on her if she returns north. So we don't really know anything definitive.

Is Melisandre confirmed for next episode? I forget. Her filming schedule aligned with a lot of the night shoots, but it's still not confirmed. We'll have to wait until the opening credits to see if she appears.

So we don't really know anything definitive. True, but wouldn't Jon and Davos reverse that death sentence if Mel weakens the NK and the AotD allowing people to retreat south. However that would probably also be her death scene so with the number of days she filmed it wouldn't make sense.

There would sure be a few next generation leaders for some old houses when you look at it so I do feel like that is something the story is moving towards. Yara, Gendry, Sam, Sansa, Robin, Edmure.. Or maybe they all die and that's totally not where the story is going, who knows.

She helps and I think she gets a pass, Jon never would of met Dany if not for her as well so Dany probably wouldn't allow it.

Can't wait to see them light up the trench. I have seen people wondering about the collapsible bridge over the trench. What's it suppose to do? How will that even slow them down? It's dropping them into a pit of fire.

I don't expect Jon or Davos will be taking any time out of the battle to execute Mel if she appears, nor do I think they will execute her after the battle once they've seen what she can do. Maybe once the war is over, but "we need every man we can get" Jon isn't going to get rid of her when he could use her.
