I've just remembered, but that dagger was in Sam's book in S7. It was staring us in the face all of the time. I thought she gave it to Sansa at first, but I guess that was just a random one? She gave Sansa a dragonglass dagger and told her to 'stick 'em with the pointy end' ... yay! Sansa pulled that out at the end there, when it was just her and Tyrion hiding behind the tomb.

Thanks, although, I pretty shake about how the whole thing went down. I will take solace in that I was right about the dagger while being wrong about everything else concerning the Night King. We talked at length about the dagger... I guess I just didn't want to hope it was Arya, so I kept dismissing that theory. I'm so glad I was right about the dagger, wrong about the moment it was used! I thought she'd be part of it, just not like that and not in episode 3. The funny thing is that after season 7, I called it and said that Cersei would be the final villain. oadara.tumblr.com/post/165476441846/do-you-have-any-predictions-for-season-8

Hopefully Bran does something cool before the series is over because the WW's going out like this kind of defeats the whole purpose of having this massive supernatural threat they've set up since the start of the entire series. Them having a super mundane raison d'être as well as failing spectacularly at their goal kind of makes me question why George would even bother with them. I think if I have one complaint about the story, it's this. All that build-up with Bran and the Night King sort of fell flat when Bran didn't seem to do much other than warg into ravens. I guess I thought maybe he'd warg into Viserion so Jon could get through, or hell, even warg into Ghost. But, nope.

let me try to calm down and write all my thoughts down. ok. ok it was quite literally raining zombies at one point. so clever and dark and just amazing. i absolutely loved how they managed to combine full on mayhem with moments of stealth. arya's scene in the library sneaking around was brilliant. i loved the touch of her drops of blood alerting the wights of her location. just amazing. the hound's panic attack was all too real. the mist. i thought it was a clever way to basically sideline jon and daenerys, at least at the beginning. did i see my girl daenerys swinging a sword there towards the end? they might make a warrior woman of her, yet. bran's last words to theon "you're a good man". so simple, but that's honestly the only thing theon has probably ever wanted to hear. jorah's death was so sad. that was probably the most emotional we've ever seen dany. emilia killed it the way she was just sobbing and begging him not to go. and the dragon coming in behind her i love how, in the end, jon and dany were basically useless. talk about a red herring. MELISANDRE. i'm biased cause i loved her to start with, but she kind of stole the show. from granting the dothraki flaming swords to lighting the trench...when she told arya "what do we say to the god of death?" i think i screamed a little. her end was sad but triumphant. god i just loved it. and lastly, arya is officially the GOAT of this series. nothing left to say, like, period. she shut those blue eyes alright, the night king's. her whole storyline has been about death, so it makes sense she's the one to look it in the face and stab it in the gut. wowwwwww wowww wowwwww Totally agree about Jon and Dany ending up totally USELESS in this episode. Not what I was expecting They were not useless. WF is overrun in like 30 seconds without them. The Unsullied certainly made a huge difference.

Agreed - there wouldn't be armies and dragons there to fight if it were not for Dany and Jon. They all had parts to play....to paraphrase Mel. We just didn't expect Arya to have such a key one.

The Unsullied certainly made a huge difference. Had neither of them been there everyone would have died, especially Dany. And while they weren't the ones killing the Night King it was by their efforts that the Night King could be killed.

That Sansa/Tyrion moment - the first shot of them was sideways so it looked like they were laying down side by side on a stone tablet ... again reminiscent, like with Sam & Gilly in bed with Little Sam between them, of the old couple on the Titanic holding hands as they went down. And Tyrion kissed Sansa's hand!
The dagger that was meant to kill Bran back in S1 ended up saving Bran, so cool.
Did Greyworm make it?

i thought sansa was about to kill herself I was actually expecting there to be a clearer call back to Blackwater with her potentially getting ready to exit at her own terms. Never thought she's actually do it but I was just waiting for some kind of a nod.
