I don't know how the fuck anyone is gonna narrow this down to 5 for this episode, but list your top 5 scenes. The whole thing was one giant amazing scene... I don't know how to pick a top 5 so I'm going to just start listing them, and adding them as I process, re-watch and calm the fuck down a little. - Arya fighting ... Arya in the library ... Arya and Melisandre ... just fucking Arya everything right up to her stabbing The Night King with her trademark secret move. - Tyrion and Sansa holding hands and feeling some love while hiding behind a tomb - Bran thanking Theon and telling him he's a good man. - Beric knocking sense into Sandor so he'll go fight when he sees Arya fighting for her life. - The tidal wave of undead that hit the front lines ... wow was that some good SFX ... as was the three dragons flying and fighting in the sky. Wow. - SAM FIGHTING! Again, just can't even make a coherent favorites list. It was all just so damn good.

Agree Envie , Arya, Arya, Arya. All that you mentioned plus when she and Sandor were fighting hand in hand, too. And her jumping at the NK - that will stand forever in my memory. So surprising, I thought she was a goner, like I thought Lyanna Mormont was a goner when the giant picked her up (which she was, actually, but she stabbed him in the eye first.) Sansa and Tyrion - and he kissed her hand, gallant and tender at the same time. Theon, that line we've heard from Bran about everything bringing him to this point, then Bran used the magic word "Home". Coming into that scene we could see the wind blowing the weirwood leaves, and it reminded me of the time in ADWD when Theon heard his name whispered under the Weirwood tree. I've gotta look up that description, thought it was one of the most beautiful in the books. Then "Theon. pause. You're a good man." And I actually thought Theon might even kill the NK the way he charged at him. Rhaegar and Viserion fighting in midair. It was horrible and scary but oh so beautiful, too. Jorah dying, the heartbreak of it all. Such devotion between Jorah and Dany both, a real, deep, true love and loyalty, both of them.

Arya killing the NK Jorah's death Theon's death Melisandre lighting the Dothraki torches That shot of Jaime and Brienne fighting back to back. I overlooked these, but yeah! And I also think that [chilling] scene after Drogon has given the NK a steady blast of fire when the smoke clears and he looks up at Dany with that taunting grin on his face. ETA: And another upon rewatch (even though I'm 'way past 5 now), Melisandre's death scene, and with Davos watching. Beautifully done.

Did my rewatch on computer and there were some absolutely brilliant battle moments in there - it's a shame many fans will complain they couldn't see anything because they were watching it on a potato. - That initial opener with the Dothraki charging off into the dark, Arakhs flaming was amazing. - Jon and Daenerys diving in and out of the 'storm clouds' that the Night King cleverly used to obscure both himself, and Winterfell - really beautiful SFX there. - The undead climbing up Winterfell walls, scrambling over one another - a real "World War Z" feel to it - if you've never seen that, a sea of zombies used one another, like ants, to pile up over a wall. - Greyworm's fear, and decision to sacrifice his own men by pulling the trap bridge and calling for the trenches to be lit ... I missed that look on his face the first time. - Drogon covered in undead like ants swarming him and crying out in fear and pain...flying off into the night to shake them off... more amazing SFX. - Daenerys and Jorah fighting together, surrounded by undead and Dany being brave enough to pick up a sword and fight! - Sam fighting... I said this the first time but it was so heartwarming to see him out there going at it just as bravely as the more 'heroic' characters. BLESS HIM! - Brienne, Pod and Jaime all sticking together and backed against the walls at the end. I'm so glad they made it. - Beric and Sandor saving Arya ... serving a 'purpose' to the Lord of Light so that Arya could go and do what she needed to do.

1. Jorah dying in the arms of his queen. No other ending for him would have been acceptable. Got me right in the feels.
2. Theon’s death. Bran thanking him, and telling him he’s a good man. Alfie gave the second best emotional performance after Emilia in this one.
3. Melisandre’s death in her true form. Great final shot to close it all out.
4. Melisandre lighting the Dothraki arakhs. Some badass shit.
5. Tyrion and Sansa preparing to die together.

1. The last montage with the awesome score. 2. Theon's death. 3. Jorah's death. 4. The first time Dany and Jon save the living. 5. Melisandre lighting the arakhs.

Mel lighting up the Dothraki’s swords. Genuinely gasped aloud Jorah’s final scenes - from the moment he came to save Dany to his death. Excellent stuff. Theon in the Godswood The dragons fighting in the air Arya but not sure what scene....probably when she runs into Beric and the Hound, but also her and Mel

1. Arya Stark killing the Night King. How could it be anything else? It was SO unexpected for me, and yet the more I think about it, the more I love it. For Arya, whose entire arc has revolved around loss, identity, and death, to take down the ultimate personification of this unnatural version of Death, a darkened perversion of the Many-Faced God ... it's so perfect that it's hard to believe that we didn't see it coming all along. "What do we say to the God of Death?" "Not today." That already-iconic line has a whole new meaning now. It has to be considered one of THE defining quotes of the series. 2. Tyrion kissing Sansa's hand as the newly-risen dead Starks overrun the crypts. What a beautiful, tender, wordless moment amidst unspeakable horror, one that acknowledges all of the history that those two have shared. Time will tell whether or not it foreshadows their ultimate reunion in marriage, but regardless ... it was lovely. I'm so glad that we got this moment. 3. Beric sacrificing himself for Arya - specifically that shot where he is framed in a Christ-like pose in the hallway, holding the dead back with his body so that she and Sandor can get to safety (shades of Hodor there). As many of you may know, Beric has become one of my absolute favorite characters since he returned to the show in Season 6, and I loved the realization of just what his ultimate purpose was. As he said to Jon in Season 7 in what is perhaps my favorite piece of dialogue in the entire show - "Death is the enemy. The first enemy and the last. The enemy always wins, and we still need to fight him. That's all I know. You and I won't find much joy while we're here. But we can keep others alive. We can defend those who can't defend themselves." Arya is obviously more than capable of defending herself - but even the strongest among us sometimes need help. And Beric gave it to her when she needed it most. Rest in piece for a seventh and final time, Lightning Lord. 4. Jorah's heroic death, and a devastated Dany crying over his body as Drogon curls up around them both. Iain Glen has been a treasure on this show, granting depth and sympathy towards Jorah that I never could have imagined from the books. The character couldn't have asked for a better end. 5. "Theon ... you're a good man. Thank you." I'm sorry, who turned on the waterworks in here? Another perfect ending for a character who's been there since the very beginning, and journeyed through hell and back along the way. That was about as close to pure catharsis as it was possible for any character to achieve.
Honorable Mentions (not exhaustive): the long take of Jon charging through the castle, and specifically the gutting moment where he has to leave Sam to what looks like his certain death so that he can reach the Night King; Lyanna Mormont taking down a wight giant (rest in peace, little bear ... and House Mormont); the aerial combat with Jon and Dany vs. the Night King; Melisandre lighting up the Dothraki arakhs; Jaime and Brienne fighting back-to-back, Arya hiding from the wights in the Winterfell library ... and so much more!
