Run time speculation.
I've also just worked some maths out. The show runners constantly use how many hours it will be to finish the show. They say it need 70-75 hours. The interesting part is that they've only made 55h 45m of show so far. The average episode length is 56 minutes. If they continue that trend it would be 15-19 episodes left to run. Both would be slightly above over run time of 56 minutes (withoutht the previously on it is probably 54 minutes). To end it in 70 hours with 13 episodes, the average run time would be 65 minutes. For it to be 13 episodes and 73 hours the average episode would be 76 minutes. For it to be 75 hours and 13 episodes it would need to be just under 89 minutes per episode.
Based on hours, here is the possibilities of what we roughly have left (average 10 episodes length is 557.5 minutes)
70 hours is 845 minutes left 71 hours is 905 minutes left 72 hours is 965 minutes left 73 hours is 1035 minutes left 74 hours is 1095 minutes left 75 hours is 1155 minutes left
My best run time guess would be season 7 has 435 minutes and season 8 is possibly longer with the final episode being 2 hours long. I can cope with that.
One of the best things about season 6 episode 10 was the run time being so much longer. Considering how much was packed in, it didn't feel as rushed. Next season there will be less stories to cover and more than likely longer episodes.
The reason I'm looking at this is when thinking how can they pack that into 7 episodes, it is probably better to think how could they pack all of that into 8 normal episodes.
Sorry for the rambling post.

Sorry for the rambling post. I'm pretty sure they just round episode times up to the nearest hour so it more like 70-75 episodes. But it's really interesting to see the numbers, and I think it'd be really good if the last episode was 90-120 minutes (or just extended in some way)

They will have to change the structure as it has usually been that episode 9 is the big battle episode. That wont work with the shorter seasons. In season 7, Queenbowl needs to be episode 7. It also has to deal with the aftermath of Queenbowl and set up season 8 with the wall falling. I cant see episode 7 being less than 80 minutes. The others could be normal average 56 minute episodes.

Ahhh the old speculation thread. Has been missed.
I agree that a Euron/Cersei alliance is possible, if only for a time. Absolutely no way are they marrying though, Cersei is not going to marry anyone whether necessary for survival or not.

Arya better be a good niece and free Edmure while she's at the Twins. Anything for more Menzies, he was great in 608.

She won't marry anyone ever again because she hated being a 'pawn' married to Robert Baratheon who never loved her anyways. It's part of why she went so crazy over the years and because she coveted the 'secret' of her union with Jaime and their children. She even admitted it 'felt good' to Unella to lie to everyone. She will NEVER marry Euron for an alliance.

Especially if Euron has Dragonbinder. I would understand them keeping that information quiet now considering what has happened since we last saw Euron.

So this is gonna be the first season without Essos in the intro, right? I imagine they'll have more time to show different places in the map as Essos took up a lot of time due to the huge distances. I could see the 7x01 intro going KL -> Dorne -> Oldtown -> Pyke -> The Twins -> Winterfell -> The Wall. If Stormbowl is a thing I could see them adding Storm's End between KL and Dorne.
