They made it work. It was heartbreaking.
The fact will always remain that the final season was far too rushed and that they just ignored 7 years of character development for some of the characters, but as a finale, it was beautifully filmed and executed.
I've said from the beginning I just wanted Ghost and Jon to live....so I guess I have to be careful what I wish for next time....lol

Hated Dany's death, but I was surprisingly fine with everything else, I was even sold on King Bran even though I started mumbling "please don't say Bran" the moment said that stories unite people. Edmure and Sweetrobin returned with no explanation whatsoever, but I loved seeing them again. Robin's puberty went really well apparently, he seemed awfully reasonable and regal, a completely different person.
Maybe it's because I was dreading it so much and was prepared for a massive dumpster fire, but I actually liked the episode. The leaks were all true once again, but other than Dany's death it was all well execute.
Felt as if they forgot to add a scene, though. Bran left the council meeting to find Drogon and we never got to see that. I wish we could give us another season following Bran's rule with that council, I really liked that scene.
So yeah, bitter as fuck, but I managed to feel a small taste of sweet.

Did I miss what happened with the regenerated Dothraki? Or was that just hand waved off? Don’t think they’d be too interested in going to Naath with the Unsullied. And what are Bran’s intentions with Drogon? Seems like a HUGE loose end. Literally. Yeah, I was really sure that the ending montage would include Drogon flying towards Valyria.

Ghost's fur looked weird when Jon touched him so I guess it really is hard to make that look natural.

Ghost's fur looked weird when Jon touched him so I guess it really is hard to make that look natural. Which makes it interesting how they'll manage them in The Long Night prequel. No dragons and more money on direwolves, giants, white walkers.

Why didn't Drogon burn Jon? And why is there a Night's Watch?

I thought they just wanted to keep tabs on him because he could return and be a huge threat? But it did remind me a lot of season 1 and Robert keeping tabs on Dany and that made me uncomfortable. They should leave Drogon well alone.

Episode was called “The Iron Throne” Yawn. Thought for sure it’d be A Song if Ice and Fire when Sam brought the book in.

Bran becoming king was just as unsatisfying as I expected. True. The worst part of the episode. Didn't ruin the whole episode for me, but I don't like it. At all.
