Usually I need to calm down and do a rewatch but even forced to watch on my phone it was a solid 10 despite missing some bits due to shitty connection. I really think the entire Sept scene story was some of the most chilling work ever done. That just filled me with dread and awe. That soundtrack just drives it to level insane. KitN scene was so similar to Robb's it terrified me. Arya serving Frey pie was terrifying. That looks between Sansa and Littlefinger ... Shit. When the only real tender moment of feel good came from the Dragon queen naming Tyrion her hand... You know shit just got real. I am terrified for next season!!! Don't forget Dragon's Bay, I love that name. I've typed this elsewhere but Sansa seemed genuinely happy for Jon at first and even nodded her approval. But when she met LF gaze her face change to what I believe was fear. She know LF and she know's that Jon is now in his way. Also, changing the subject, I feel closer to my Dany X Jon alliance, Dany needed to stay free for a marriage alliance and a brand new, single King has just been named. Coincidence or conspiracy?

Well where to begin This episode was jam-packed but nothing felt too forced for me. The Positives-King's Landing Part I. Ooft. Just absolutely marvellous. The direction, the soundtrack, the writing. Hands down the best King's Landing moment ever. It beats everything else that's ever happened in that city. They created so much tension from the very beginning. Ramin's score was fantastic. The explosion itself - I think "bloodbath" is an understatement Oh, and also - Gregor removed his helmet! He's like a prune! (Prune + Unella = Prunella?) Poor Pycelle. And Kevan. And MACE. -The Twins Part I. Jaime's conversation with Walder was great. I feel like Walder said some phrases Jaime once used to someone, but clearly it has a different effect when you're being told rather than saying it. -Oldtown. Absolutely stunning. Not much else to say other than I'm glad Sam is so happy and John Bradley did a great job at conveying it -Meereen. Dany's talk with Daario was quite moving for me actually. I could see the sadness in Daario and it's clear that he definitely loved Dany. Also "Bay of Dragons" is epic. Naming Tyrion her hand was really sweet too. "Hand of the Queen" -Winterfell. I loved every single second of it. No doubt. Liam deserves an Emmy. Carice was incredible too. Loved Davos talking about Shireen like a daughter and calling her out when she tried to shift/share the blame. The Jon/Sansa scene was touching. Fuck the haters Sansa is not plotting against him. Loved the lines about Winter: "Winter is here." "Father always promised, didn't he?" (You're right Jon. He made anotyer very specific promise many years ago too!) LF calling Sansa "my love" is just revolting on many levels, but so glad she basically told him to fuck off again. And the last scene. Oh! Perfect. The King in the North. If it doesn't work out with Jon, make Lyanna Queen in the North because she fucking deserves it. Manderly and Glover were incredible. I was worried because I'd seen some sort of leak saying they'd support LF instead, but so glad that wasn't the case! -King's Landing Part 2/3. Lena is perfect. Not the on-the-nose madness of book Cersei, but this kind of subtler madness is a lot better. "First of her name" and with Qyburn as Hand too. -The Twins Part 2. Now I'd also been spoiled that Walder was going to be killed by Arya. And personally, I didn't think she deserved to be the one. Yes, she knows Walder murdered her mother and brother, but I just feel IMO that there's not been much set-up for it this season. BUT ... when she said "they're already here" and he looked at the pie, all negatives flew right out the window. I'm so happy they put it in when they didn't really have to. In this story it doesn't fit for Wyman to be the one. A little odd that she managed to kill and cook two grown men into a pie but whatever. It was cool. -Olenna putting the Sand Snakes in their fucking place. -Bran/ToJ. Worth the wait. For some, it was seven weeks. For others (not me), it's been 20 years. Ramin's score, the acting, the writing. Flawless. Not sure why they faded her voice when she said "his name is Jon" but I suppose it's less exposition-y, so no issue there. -Dany. Again, for some people it's been twenty years build-up to this moment. Finally, FINALLY she's leaving Essos. Now there is no character (except Jorah maybe?) who needs to get to Westeros. They're all either there or on their way. The Mehs/Negatives-Tommen's death. I knew he killed himself (The woes of spoiler tags) so when the shot lingered on the window I knew what he would do. I understand the motivation behind it, but personally I didn't like the way it was shot. He's the king so it should have some kind of impact (pun not intended). Maybe if they took it a little slower it wouldn't have come off a bit odd. -Ellaria taking not only Doran's position as ruler of Dorne, but also his lines. Ugh. Sure Varys shared them and that was a slight improvement, but still -Arya going to the Twins immediately was a bit random. As I said there's been very little buildup to it this season. But Frey Pies negates this problem Overall, my second favourite episode. A 10. Best season finale since Fire and Blood

11I said last week that Snowbowl was my second-favourite episode in the series behind Rains of Castamere, but I changed my mind after a rewatch. It's still in my Top-5 for sure, but I would probably rank it lower than Baelor and Blackwater. However, this ... this is my second-favourite episode in the series. I fucking applauded when it was over. I was watching it alone on my laptop, and I started clapping. Snowbowl was great, but in terms of pure emotions and epicness, this was the best episode this season, imo. I cried so hard, and I am still crying as I am typing this. Jesus fucking Christ. The Tower of Joy was everything. It wasn't rushed, it was beautiful, the acting was outstanding, the music. It's hard to put into words how much I loved it, it was simply perfect and everything I had hoped it would be, and more. The North declaring for Jon ... I know I would have loved to see Sansa become Queen in the North, and maybe it will happen in the future, but for now, I am content with this. The King in the North! The King in the North. Davos confronting Mel was so well done. I started tearing up as soon as he started talking, and when he said Shireen was like his own daughter, I was gone. And despite everything she's done, my heart still breaks for Melisandre and it makes me sad that this was probably the last scene between Mel and Davos, as those two are not only among my favourite characters, but probably the best duo on the show with an amazing chemistry. Dany and Tyrion was heartfelt, genuine, I loved it. Both Emilia and Dinklage killed it in that scene. And of course I cried when she declared him Hand of the Queen. Good stuff. The final shot of the episode was epic as fuck. King's Landing. What can I say that hasn't already been said. It was perfect, and I hate using this word over and over again. The Mad Queen has finally arrived. Again, it was everything I had hoped for. Light of the Seven is a haunting track. Marg recognizing the danger, the fear and horror in the High Sparrow's face for a brief second, before everything went boom. Beautiful. And now the valonqar has arrived to wrap his hands around Cersei's pale white throat. I even liked Dorne. I'm a bit bummed that they gave Doran's iconic line to fucking Ellaria, but I'm glad that they used it word for word, because it's one of my favourites. Olenna owning the Sand Snakes was beautiful. The only thing I hated, obviously, was the Frey stuff. I'm biased, but Walder Frey wasn't Arya's to kill. It came out of nowhere, it felt rushed and weird. Frey pies? What?! I didn't care for that scene one bit, and it didn't give me any satisfaction. Whatever. RIP, my Lady. Why can't I give this one 11?

Why can't I give this one 11? You can blame @nictarion for that. He didn't put 11 in the poll.

I just rewatched the episode and I'm very confused, because I gave SNOWBOWL an 11, so my first reaction to the finale was "nah, it can't be better than SNOWBOWL", but to me I think it was. I watched the ToJ/KitN sequence multiple times on youtube before my rewatch and somehow I still teared up and got MAJOR chills throughout the entire scene when I watched it for the tenth time. SNOWBOWL is an amazing masterpiece, but this is too. Not just because of the aforementioned scene, but because of every scene. I even loved Dorne ffs. I think this is easily one of the best 5 episodes this show has ever done. I have no idea about the ranking. I don't know if I would say it's my number 1 or if it's lower on my list. It's too soon to tell. But I'm sure it's in my top 5. I'd give this an 11 or 12 or 13 if I could. And now I'll stop fanboying. This is getting embarrassing.

the soundtrack in this episode was epic.
Loved the king of the north scene, but yes it was very reminiscent of Robb and thus makes me fear Jon will not end well. I just hope he doesn't die before Arya makes it back. I want to see the Arya/Jon reunion <3
What a phenomenal set up for next season! I bet it opens with Dani landing in Dorne.

I think the Sand Snakes will be a non-issue going forward. Olenna, Varys, Tyrion and Daenerys will be there. I don't think the writers will focus on the SS if they have all these other characters there too.

Perfect 10. That was pretty much a masterpiece imo. Best finale since Fire and Blood, if not the best yet. Incredible season, and is a close, close 2nd to season 1 as my favorite. The Door, BotB, and Winds of Winter are all among the very best episodes of the series.
