I'm rather obsessed with the ToJ scene in 610. I've seen it so much that the exact music rattles in my head, at the the precise moment where it transitions from the baby boy to Jon. One small squabble, for a perfect scene I'd say, is I keep looking for that damn blue rose somewhere. There's a flower in the window, but I don't think it's blue. It would have been a nice touch. And I absolutely love Isaac's performance during this scene.

I wonder if they'll ever do another one of those 'In Memoriam' videos they released for Comic-Con after season 3. Would they bother to release it now (like every 3 seasons) or wait until the show is over?

I always felt like the blue roses were more symbolic than real in Ned's memory. I mean, the ones Rhaegar gave her at the tourney would have been long dead and why keep them all the way down in the Tower of Joy? Maybe he brought her more, or maybe they were a decoration there (dried or something). I had hoped maybe they'd show a blanket with blue roses stitched in it covering her, which would have been a nice symbolic touch. I do love the Tower of Joy scenes, both halves done so well. There's something magical about the setting and the director felt so too with that location since it's so historical in Spanish history as well. I still don't understand the significance of having whatever she first whispered to him be cut out. I guess we won't know for sure until next season if it had any significance at all. Jon Snow will probably stay Jon Snow. How could he choose Targaryen? His upbringing is Stark centered and now he's KitN, but symbolically keeping his name "King Snow" would be a nice nod to the Wildlings he saved.

So the first thing I did tonight after getting settled in after returning home from vacation was to re-watch the finale on my bigger screen in all it's HD glory and no one to interrupt or piss me off.
It was glorious. This really was the best finale ever. Every scene was masterfully done and displayed to best effect by Sapochnik's keen eye for detail. The scene of Tyrion kneeling before Daenerys got me this time, it was rather emotional seeing it on a bigger screen with his heartfelt words to her.
I even liked the Dorne scene, especially since Olenna told the sandsnakes to shut up.
The special effects, music and cinematography are simply mind-blowing for a television series.
Cersei's scene with Unella was chilling ... just perfect. Lena seriously needs to get a damn award this year!

That is a tall order after 508 and 609!

Which character do you guys think had the strongest arc this season? With a great deal of thought, even though he was less of a focus in s6 than he was in say s2 or s5, I'd have to go with the change from this to this.

Yeah, great arc, but not as impressive as a dead man becoming king in eight episodes, I'd say.

Yeah, great arc, but not as impressive as a dead man becoming king in eight episodes, I'd say. If it were strictly a matter of reversals of fortune or contrasts from beginning to end, I'd agree that Jon's was the best. But Theon being my pick comes from him regaining his purpose in life and his finally committing himself to the Greyjoy family in a way that doesn't betray his Stark upbringing. Which means a tad more to me overall than Jon's inevitable rollercoaster of success. That said Jon's reversal of fortune and Sansa's would definitely make any top five I were to put together if I were so-inclined.

I would also add the Jon himself hasn't changed dramatically as a person, he is still Jon Snow albeit a bit more brooding and a bit darker. His circumstances are the ones that have dramatically change. While Theon circumstances and characters have change drastically from the first episode to the last.

Cersei's scene with Unella was chilling ... just perfect. Lena seriously needs to get a damn award this year! According to Lena's EW interview, that scene was actually darker in the original script and what we saw on-screen was the "tame" version.

Was she like masturbating while it was all going down? "Oh, this is so hot..."

Which character do you guys think had the strongest arc this season? Cersei. Went from psychologically broken shell of a self in episode 1 to super-human Nietzschean war general and rightful queen in episode 10
