Agree that Arkangel was pretty underwhelming. The trouble is we've seen this sort of slow-march, inescapable tragedy a lot of times before on Black Mirror, and they didn't do anything fresh with an interesting concept. It was perfectly fine, and very understated in performance and direction, but in the context of the show it kind of fades into the background.
I will say, in its favour, it's a very well-written episode. There were a ton of little details that came back into play towards the end; the mother calling Sara's name again was some lovely poetry. Would probably serve a rewatch.

Right I'm going to do a full play by play and you're all going to enjoy it, damn you.
I think I enjoyed the experience of watching Crocodile more than Arkangel, it was just my kind of chilling, bleak atmosphere, but I'm not sure it's a better episode if that makes sense. Arkangel gets better the more I think about it, whereas this kind of lives and dies by its ultimate piece-of-shit protagonist. I mean damn what a monster. I feel like the story might have been better served if we got more of a sense of who she was before she ended up being a fucking serial killer.
But it was still a great ride. And the balls to finish on that dark joke, never change Charlie Brooker you sick fuck.

Iceland looked so gorgeous in that episode. Definitely on my list of places I’d like to see before I die.

But yeah in homage to the title, she was very much a crocodile. Cold-blooded, sneaky, attacking in rage when she's threatened. I've seen others talking about her tears at the end were "crocodile tears" (makes sense with the title) because she wasn't regretting what she did, more so that she was exhausted. Edit: Forgot the spoiler tags.

I think Hang The DJ is my favorite now, edging out Arkangel. USS Callister is close too. Those three episodes were just really good, IMO.

I really loved Hang the DJ. I’m going to be watching out for Georgina Campbell going forward. She was great, and also very easy on the eyes.

Well Hang the DJ really lived up to expectations, what an episode. Charlie Brooker writes the best love stories out, I swear.
Really fun seeing Joe Cole in a role where he's not just a weirdo or an angry bastard. I don't like him in Peaky Blinders but he was charming as hell here.
Doesn't quite touch San Junipero, but what does. Can't wait to rewatch.

It's so funny following reactions to this show. Pretty much every episode other than the absolute standouts has a massive range of responses. I say that, but I've even come across people who thought San Junipero was boring and contrived, so there you go.
Literally the first comment about Metalhead on the AV Club calls this episode a wispy bit of pretentious bullshit. Then the second calls it their favourite episode of the show. No other programme evokes this kind of polarity and I love that about it. You genuinely could not guess one cosmetic thing about the next episode you watch, even if the chances of there being a happy ending are pretty slim.
This was the best-looking episode of Black Mirror, for sure. David Slade is a marvel and he hits new heights here. I wish I could talk more technically but something about the black and white makes every image pop that bit more. I appreciate a bare bones story that's confident enough in its subtleties to just let you go with it - it's what I loved about Dunkirk from last year - though I would have appreciated a tiny bit more around the middle section here. A 40 minute long episode should never feel like it drags.
Not sure where I rate this one, but I sure do love this show.

Black Museum was disappointing overall, though it had a ton of hilariously dark moments and good sequences. It didn't come together in the end like White Christmas did, though, largely because it was a rehash of a lot of those ideas. The transfer of a digital consciousness has been mined more than enough, Charlie really needs to move on from that one.
This episode gave me a weird feeling, like it could be the last. Not sure if I'm reading too much into it, but it was so much of a meta-episode with an ending that had such a sense of finality. Would definitely work as the last.
Reckon if I'm rating right now I'd go:
Hang The DJ USS Callister Metalhead Arkangel Crocodile Black Museum

Thinking on it more I would probably bump up USS Callister as my second favorite. So...
1. Hang the DJ 2. USS Callister 3. Black Museum 4. Crocodile 5. Metalhead 6. Arkangel

Arkangel I keep thinking about this too, and now my list looks like. 1) Hang the DJ 2) USS Callister 3) Arkangel 4) Black Museum 5) Crocodile 6) Metalhead. I'm giving Callister a slight edge over Arkangel for Jimmi Simpson's line delivery of "oh my fuck."

Metalhead is now sitting at the same rating (6.9) as The Waldo Moment on IMDb. And will probably drop a bit more since it hasn’t been out all that long. That is HARSH. No way Metalhead is the worst episode of the show so far. I know I gave National Anthem shit when I first saw it, but Waldo is by far the worst. The technical aspects and the actress alone put Metalhead over Waldo, IMO.
