The bright side is that Cersei’s Cersei-ness is at an all time high.
Holding smallfolk hostage in the Red Keep, having dragons shot from the sky, executing people in front of their loved ones.
I just wished we saw more of her.

I’m just so shellshocked that this ending is really so much sadder/darker than anything I expected. I wouldn’t say the writing is the problem, because it’s being executed well enough, I suppose, but this is just some nihilistic shit. Hero spends the entire series trying to make the world a bettter place, country doesn’t accept her, allies turn against her or are murdered in front of her, the family of the man she loves conspires against her.... Maybe I’m just a pussy but this is a little hard for me to watch. Many of you have been with me for years, maybe since season 4. Some of you might remember how much I hated Dany back then, when I was an extremely edgy die-hard Ramsay fan. This season is making me sympathize with her so much to the point that her death would actually sadden me. I barely recognize myself

and finally Jon .. Aegon... is naive and principled to a fault. He can't do it alone my god the poor guy is such a doof. He's completely oblivious to the plots around him. If may not seem this way, but he needs Dany more than she needs him. The mantle of the throne is going to fall on him, and he'll go the same route as Eddard without someone to help him navigate that. This is why I don't see any path forward that works for either Daenerys or Jon without marriage. At this point they NEED one another, and not for love - they need one another to temper their impulses, to check their bad decisions and bolster their good ones. Each of them is half as good as they could be combined.

This episode was pretty good for a transition one and I liked how in everyone's conversations, they were all basically right in what they were saying and we were able to understand their perspective.
Sansa noticing Dany giving Gendry Storm's End so that he'll be loyal to her feeds into her mistrust for Dany. But both Jon and Arya get to tell Sansa that Dany saved them by bringing her armies here. Dany gets a great scene with Jon that shows how. much she just wants him to carry on like before he found out but as Varys says, Jon grew up in the North and being in romantic love with a family member isn't something he can really follow through with so there's now a distance between them.
And Dany is totally right in telling Jon that even if he doesn't want the IT, it's not going to matter because no one will truly get behind her with Jon's claim hanging over everything. So they are definitely setting up the distrust between them that's tragic and won't end well.
I liked it being Euron to bring down Rhaegal because the audience probably didn't hate him enough to really want to see him get killed because he's been probably a little too cartoonish to get overly worked up about. Him taking out a dragon will bring out the bloodlust in the audience and makes taking him out as well as Cersei more desirable.
I will agree that Jon did Ghost dirty. I guess it kind of tracks because Jon hasn't really done anything substantial with Ghost since S1. Sam's better friends with him than Jon if we're being honest.

Considering that most of the ships has sunk in the past seasons, I'm not surprised that Jonerys will suffer the same fate.
Bran and Meera? Nope Arya and Gendry? Nope. Brienne and Jaime? Nope.

Yes Dany has to seize the throne before Jon/Aegon's claim is established. That's the moment that we as the audience were aware of at the planning table and everyone else was not. Sansa seemed to be asking "Why march a wounded army?" and the question wasn't left answered, instead Dany responded with force and demanded compliance in return for her assistance with the army of the dead.
Now Sansa clearly understands why Dany is in such a rush to settle the matter of claim. The truth is catching up with her, and not only is the not the best claim to the throne, she's not even the favored one.
I think that Dany continually underestimates the bonds that people around them have to one another. She grew up without family, and around people who used her for their own political expediencies - so the love and bonds that exist in the north are well out of her reach and comprehension.
The look sansa gave her when she gifted title to Gendry Baratheon in my perception was not a look of mistrust. Sansa views the world with a chess player's eyes now, always looking moves ahead. In that moment, I saw her evaluating Dany as a person who makes moves she doesn't fully comprehend, out of passion.
If anything, granting title to Gendry is a liability for Dany. That revives a more recent claim, and makes Gendry Robert Baratheon's heir and claimant to the throne. She should have seen this, but didn't or didn't consider it. Sansa did. In my eyes, Sansa was looking at Dany thinking "Why would you give a title to someone who isn't loyal to you, won't BE loyal to you because of that entitlement and has potentially a better claim on the throne than you do?"
That's what I saw in Sansa's eyes. A look of "I don't think this person is really thinking this through."

Why didn't Dorgon just fly BEHIND Euron's fleet and torch them? Am I missing something obvious here?
