6 out of 10
Oh how the Dorne story was butchered. I under D&D's desire to showcase Indira Varya's talents, but what a waste of Alexander Siddig. It could have been so much better. I agree with someone on another thread who said it was the accents that doomed Dorne.
I always thought it was interesting that Sansa married in the godswood according to the old gods, when all her life she'd followed the seven like her mother. Of course, now she claims not to pray to any of them.
Not my favorite episode of the season, that's for sure.

I gave it a 6. For me, it's on the same level as The Night Lands, but for different reasons. My favorite scene is probably when Jaqen takes Arya into the Hall of Faces, especially for the music. Ramin Djawadi's soundtrack here is amazing. Other than that, I'm not particularly thrilled with the content in this episode, other than a few other scenes. I do think that Olenna's conversation with Cersei was somewhat entertaining and it's funny how immediately after the Dorne scenes, Olenna appears and says "Ah, you can smell the shit from the five miles away", even though she's referring to KL. I think the inquest scene was a bit ridiculous, but ah well. As for Tyrion and Jorah, it was okay. I liked how Tyrion brought up why would people support Dany in Westeros because that's something that should be addressed especially if she plans to win over them. But Dorne. Yikes. I understand that they didn't have enough time to film that fight scene in that setting, but there could have been ways around it. Such as choosing a more open location. I remembered that it was originally supposed to take place at night, but there were already so many issues here that I wanted to fast forward. For the Winterfell scenes, I do think Podeswa did a nice job with the direction of the actual wedding. The light posts in the Godswood were also cool, but Sansa marrying Ramsay doesn't happen in the books so you don't really know what to expect. I completely understand that changes needed to be made, in fact, I didn't mind the decision to move Sansa into the North, but I feel like it was going backward for her character. Alfie, Sophie, Iwan, and Michael continue to be amazing though throughout this entire season.

I gave it a 7. It's probably one of my least favorite episodes but it's still better than some (I'm looking at your The Night Lands).

4/10, the best part was Tyrion's and Jorah's scenes. Probably the worst episode of the series

6 out of 10. I don't think this show has ever made an episode below 6/10 to be honest, so this is one of the lowest tier episodes in my personal rankings.

During S5, I rated this a 5 and now I'm dropping it to a 4. Not a great episode at all and it featured so many stories that I hated during S5. (Sansa being fArya, Dorne,) and I can't stress enough how much I hate the end of this episode.
I still stand by the decision to put the camera on Theon. I know people flipped over that, but considering the alternative, I'll take Theon's horrified face any day.
Random thought: I don't think I've ever gone lower than a 3 or 4 for Thrones.

I called Tommen a baby back bitch in my S5 post. Still true. It is. I mean Joffrey was a cruel bastard, but I doubt he would have let his wife be taken away.

A 7 but only because the Godswood Wedding is a great scene and the Arya bits are really well-developed. The rest just doesn't cut it. Even King's Landing feels subpar here.

Honestly Sansa's wedding depresses me even more because I convinced myself that she's probably wearing Catelyn's wedding dress.

I was writing my rating for this last night but I was too tired so I deleted what I'd written up and put off posting my thoughts till now. The gist of it was that I have very few problems with the episode and, moreover, I think that the Braavos and WF stuff here is some of the best-ever direction in the show. Podeswa, as in Kill The Boy and later Home, is a master of creating an atmosphere and both sequences are a slow build, in the HOBAW creating a sense of mystery and in WF creating a stomach-turning sense of sustained dread. They're also both shot, lit and scored amazingly, which for me forgives things like the shitty Water Gardens fight and how underwhelming Tyrion and Jorah capture by the slavers was (when the rest of their time together in the season and in the ep. was pretty damn great). Having two Lannisters get captured without much of a sense of threat is some rushed writing that's for sure. And having blades put to both of their throats and having it be a foregone conclusion that both will live is almost worse still. Despite that though I rate this episode highly on the strength of its slower, atmospheric sequences. So yeah I'm the guy who gave it the 9. I gave it one then and do again. I like me some Podeswa.
