Not sure if anyone has noticed but it looks like Alys Karstark miraculously survived the skirmish in the godswood. Looks like her sitting next to Royce? Apparently that’s Sarra Frey who

yeah got that thx. Is she the new lady of the twins or something? i was messing with you. apparently one of the girls they cast is playing sarra frey and she's at winterfell. arya spared the women so i guess she's the new de facto head of house frey. idk i read it somewhere.

It's not Alys or Sarra Could just be a North/Vale extra.

There is a new small role of someone called Sarra but we don't know if it's the Frey girl or not. Sarra was a little redheaded girl in ep. 309 and this new actress Danielle Galligan is a brunette in her twenties, so I'm pretty sure she's just a character who shares the Frey girl's name. As to whether or not that's her or Alys Karstark next to Lord Royce, I've tried zooming in on the image and really can't tell. If indeed Jon's given a lot of marriage offers this episode (which for some reason I can't recall why, people are speculating about) then maybe whoever's beside Royce is his daughter.

someone on twitter said they think it's significant that it looks like virtually everyone in the crowd is wearing red or green robes. personally i think it's more like the VFX people just replicated the same few people over and over again to fill out the crowd, but i figured i'd share anyway.

About Varys:
I keep thinking about Dany's interrogation/confrontation with Varys last season when she pointed out how fickle his allegiances were in the past. I'm trying to remember exactly what she said before she got to the "If you ever ... I'll have my dragons burn you" part. Was it that if he thought she was making mistakes or becoming a bad ruler that he should come to her and tell her what he was thinking? I'm fuzzy on that.
But (1) he's been so uncharacteristically quiet these last two seasons, and (2) aside from vouching for Dany, the main reveal we got from Kinvara was that she knew what the voice in the flame had said to Varys and whose voice it was. For the series to emphasize that, as they had several seasons before when Varys showed Tyrion the sorcerer responsible that he'd finally captured, it's got to lead to a significant event that's still to play out.

It's not Alys or Sarra Could just be a North/Vale extra. it's a northern girl, judging by the collar, but yeah the actress's insta seems to confirm alys got an offscreen death like her father. (I'd seen this screencapped questioned on tumblr already but it was from someone who thought euron was sansa in the throne room shot in the trailer, so...)

I Daenerys: Swear this to me, Varys. If you ever think I’m failing the people, you won’t conspire behind my back. You’ll look me in the eye, as you have done today, and you’ll tell me how I am failing them.

I wouldn't hold your breath on that, maybe Varys mentions it. I figure he sort of acts like Mel does in episode 5. Has some plot device that may help but fail, like the tunnels or Little birds. Then dies after doing something to help. My guess is he gets his moment Winterfell and the battle with the WW is to Mel what KL and the battle there is to Varys. He is tied to KL and Cersei is his NK.
